NO 5th!..yyyyyyy?

i was clipping down the highway in 4th then went to shift into fifth and it wasnt there!! no abnormal noise or anything. feels like another neutral. any suggestions. all other gears are fine.

Its funny I lost 5th too. I still have reverse but 5th is gone. I can kinda force it in and hold it and it will grind and vibrate pretty bad but it won't stay in. I did the bolt tightening and since I did that R works alot better but still no 5th. I only did the top bolt not the lower one because it didn't feel tight. Any suggestions?

Every other gear shifts great..well 2nd grinds sometimes...so I don't know.

check out your linkage and clutch endplay/engagement.

if that ( and maybe some penzoil syncromesh) doesn't help the grinding, it will only get worse.

Thats weird that 5th doesnt work and reverse does, they are on the same shift rod, dunno what to tell ya but you might want to crack the trans open and find pics of what it is supposed to look like and go from there.
