I just bought this car last night,And it starts and all the gears except reverse work fine. And the green shift light always stays in neutral.
When i bought the car the guy said it needed a new transmission. But me & my friend dont quite think this is the case. Since it shifts fine in all gears except reverse. What could this be? The only thing we could think of would be the linkage being off a bit,But i wouldnt think this would only effect reverse would it? I dont want to start messing with it without atleast having an idea what could be wrong. Let me know people
thanks

hey buddy. i have a simialar problem. mine will take every gear for a while and then it slips into neutral or the tranny just quits pulling one. but alot of times its the tranny control unit goin out. any idea what my problem is?

Was the transmission evere taken apart before??
if so the o rings on the center supporrt are missing or the 2 little o rings are not properly alligned to the transmission case or it could also be a faulty pulse generator
if it is the o rings the transmission must come down
hope this helps:talon:

i appreciate the help. unfortunatley i have no idea how to go about check the o ring problem or the pulse generator and i have done some surching but if you could, a little more information would be apreciated.
