I have 1st gen AWD and something's wrong with the transmission, there's some noise in the tranny where the gears or differentials are moving. when the car is running the tranny is making a little bit noise and when i press the clutch the noise is gone. So i decided to take the tranny apart and i found this gear ( i have no idea what is called ) with its rings or some sort is all torn up. They said this is the common problem for AWD eclipses. how should i fix it, can i fix it by my self, how much is it going to cost me, should i go for rebuild?

hey pros, please give me information, Thanks

hey guys i found it on the net it's called "viscous coupling"
