Alright I'm traveling 55 mph in 5th. I hear a loud thump and my back tires lock up. I drag the car to a stop and have it towed. I was totally babying the car due to that was about the 15th mile on my new motor.

The car is 1998 GSX with the transfer case recall already done at 55,000 miles. It now has 83,000 miles on it. The fronts still spin freely and the motor runs fine. Mitsu aid to pick it up from my house and take it to the closest dealership. They said that if the problem was from the transfer case that they would replace it again. Now I'm waiting. Do you all think that it's the transfer case and the kicker is I informed them that the car is the far from stock and they said that as long as the drivetrain is left alone from the tranny back that I will be covered.

samething happened to me but on the highway.
i had to rebuild my transfercase. so in other words it does sound like the transfercase. goodluck :thumb:

cool thankx for the reply... makes me feel alittle better. It's really hard to love your DSM when your already spent 5K plus for a motor swap and a new turbo and then next thing that you know your driving home thanking god it's finally back on the road, and this happens.

I've had 2 TC's recalled on my car. Hopefully third time is the charm.

Glad nothing bad happened to you. :thumb:
