What Transmission's are Usable?

Im looking for a replacement transmission for my car as of now its using a transmission that came from a 90 eclipse 2.0 Nt and it grinds like a Biatch in 1/2/3 (Syncro's) What year makes and model transmissions can i use in my car? Is there a dfferent amount of splines on the shaft/crank btween years 90-94? My car has a 6-Bolt, so could I use a tranmission from a 7-Bolt? Will a 1.8 transmission work?

there wouldn't be an advantage of going with a different year transmission. Rebuild yours, synchros aren't too big of a deal.

all depends on the work you want to do. i'd rebuild it.

Rebuilding a transmission is expensive im looking for a cheap replacement alternative

well, the cheapest is to rebuild it yourself.

your other option are rebuild or find a used 90 tranny. not to many super cheap alternatives unless you are going to do the work yourself.

I found a tranny locally from a 91 tsi fwd, im gonna pick it up and try it guys says if it grinds i get my money back and its only $250
