Hello guys, I recently bought a 1997 GS-T and got a pretty good deal considering all the stuff it had(16g, apex fmic&Full piping, Injen, 3inch with test pipe gauges etc). I got it with a little front-end damage (nothing big just fender, spindle, etc) but once I finally got it started (upgraded fuel pump wasn’t pumping) there was a noise coming from the transmission. When I put the clutch in, it goes away so I thought it would be just a release Bearing. Now I a need help from you guys I’ll appreciate a lot..just answer what you can:

1) The transmission shifts into all gears but there is a bearing noise terribly bad, grinding and all. Could this be an easy fix? Am pretty skillful, I’ve help rebuilt engines and I change my own stuff like clutch and timing belt.
2) I know this is drivetrain/tranny but my car has a huge lag (a/f meter is on the rich side) almost as if the car was a diesel but as soon as the TD05H-16G kicks in is “AMAZING”. I didn’t even know at what boost was the MBC set, turns out the previous owner was really hitting that 4g63 with 20psi(no lie) I can even hear the 1g blow off. What can be causing this hesitation (like when a carbureted car is clogged)?? The car runs fine while on boost. Also it idles horribly which could be caused by hks or web cams I noticed.
3) With all the post I’ve read regarding crank walk, It leaves me wondering if that cause the tranny to go. If the engine runs well could I be experiencing thrust bearing issues??

GUYS THANKS A LOT FOR READING AND ANY HELP WOULD BE WELCOME. HAPPY TO BE A DSM OWNER…LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP so I’ve read..LOL

I would appreciate a comment on the tranny at least. I am thinking very strongly to re-built it my self and put in a phantom or bm grip simulated LSD. Any one that has done it... is it worth it? Should I just shell out about 700 for a used one(is it cheaper to rebuild "parts only"). Given that i have just bearing issues and maybe 1-2 syncho just in case? The grinding is really bad but it runs on all gears without disengagement. Where can i buy a master kit for the F5M33-2-spzt with all the seals, bearing and may be even some gears that usually go(cheap). Thanks again guys!
