Ok so heres the deal got off the freeway and my clutch started to feel like it was slippin( just changed it so I figured I might have gotten something on it) park the car and go visit with a freind say for about 2 hours. Come back out and start the car put it in reverse and it just doesnt feel right. Get about a block away and i turn down the music and i take off real slow, now i know somethings wrong, going about 5 mph the rear starts to feel like its dragging. All of a sudden there is 2 clicks and thats it its all locked up. T- case i told myself no problem got some friends in town can get one quick. Call a tow truck and im very picky aobut him not dragging the wheels or even moving the drive train and he complies. Get the car to my house jack it up and go to pull off the transfer case and its locked on. Moves about 1/8 inch away from the tranny but thats it. Tryed everything HELP its getting to be annoying and I am trying to save myself the time of pulling the whole motor. Please if anyone has any info or can give me any advice on what to try i would appreciate it. Thanks

Im sure youve done work like this. but did you Remove the Drive shaft from the x-case, via the Carrier Bearings? just a thought, If you dont the X-case wont come out far enough to clear the output shaft, now Ive never herd anything like this, but maybe the out put shaft Shreaded inside the X-case, or Vise Versa??????

isn't this why you need the t-case recall done? It supposed to lock up like this? i would imagine that removing the drive shaft would be a good idea, since that is where the problem would be causing it to lock up.

dont feel bad man--I did the same thing. I didn't completly fill my transfer case when I did my clutch and bout 500 miles later..fine,fine,click,sideways. Not fun! But is the transfer case hitting the oil pan? becase the center shaft has 2 BB's halfing it in place and if the BB's come loose the shaft that sticks out the trans for the trans-x can slide ALL THE WAY OUT UNTILL IT HITS THE OIL PAN. I was working on a friends car and that happen to me. I had to put a screw driver up against the out put shaft and hold it. Also you did get out all 5 bolts holding it on i hope!!!
hope it helps you man

AS far as I know that recall was only on some 95's due to from the factory the drain plug gasket suckes. I wouldn't be under recall on a 92'

guess i should of looked at the year of the car before i posted that, eh? :D
