A kid and i quote said "I will kill you in a race" , i respond with OK, what kind of car do you have , he responds with a 2002 Neon 132hp Manual. I own an 98 automatic GSX with an new intercooler filter, Ram air, catback exaust. How much Hp do you think i push? Also how bad will i rape this neon.
 
hahaha neons are so slow, (with the exception of the srt-4) i killed one who had nitrous when my car was completely stock. youll definitely smoke him no matter what he has under the hood. itll probably be like when i raced a saturn sc2 and won by like 50 car lengths
 
Of course you will rip apart the neon, the poor guy won't even know what hit him.

I don't mean to highjack your post, but the situation that your in just happened to me two days ago. I don't normally street race or waste my time with something that I know it's not worth it...but this time I made an exception...I was stopped at a set of lights when a guy in his new Cavalier pulls beside me, and starts reving his car at me, I look over at him and his buddy are looking at me and laughing, I did a little chuckle and ignore them, he kept reving the engine, and his buddy yells out of the passenger side "are you scared your going to loose" I looked at them pissed off by now, didn't say a word, Check my rear view mirror no one behind us I reverse my car to give him one car length, change the boost to 19psi, and kept reving my car to make sure they new it was on, lights go green, boom see ya, I new they were racing me, I heard their tires burning it up , by 3rd gear I shut it down, there was no point in continuing, but they still continued, maybe they thought they were winning, got to the next set of lights stopped beside them, looked at them, the look in their faces was priceless, all I said was " don't go around wasting peoples time, you got nothing.
 
You will need a Manual Boost Controller or an Electronic Boost Controller(which I have)

I took a look at your profile, it doesn't seem your ready for a boost controller.

You will need a boost gauge(A MUST), change your UIC pipe with a different BOV, the stock BOV's leak at around 14-15psi so a boost controller would be no use for you.

supposedly the kid threw in an aftermarket BOV , yet i dont know where it is ( very new to my car) . How much PSI does the stock Turbo even run?
 
dont boost the t25....big f-***ing mistake...I already made it. Leave the stock boost going and worry about bolt ons, boost is something you do when you actually have a decent turbo fuel mods.

oh yeah it was only 15 psi and It was timmed all the time so dont do it. stock boost is 11-13 psi
 
thanks for the warning man . What mods do you suggest i do? I already have a Catback Exaust , Ram air , New Filter on the intake for the turbo.
 
as many bolt ons as possible, then upgarde the turbo, and after all that get a safc, datalogger and such...then you can go out and have fun. First I say get supporting mods like fuel air and exhaust mods then get rid of that peice turbo most of us started with and get control and tune. Good luck
 
if ur 98 X is like mine, ull b running w/ enough fuel up to 16 ~ 18 psi. but that is all id go. Im running 17 on the T25 while spiking at 20 ~21 (trying to kill it, not dying fast enough). Don't do it without a new BOV though.

I say the first and foremost thing u get is an aftermarket boost gauge
 
Two months after I got the car, I built and installed an MBC set at 17psi, and I haven't touched it in a year on the T-25. It's fine, unless you have a turbo that's had the crap beat out of it already. DSMeclipse4g63, what exactly happened with your turbo? Was your car "previously enjoyed" before you picked it up? ;)

Boost gauge, upper intercooler pipe and 1g BOV, and a boost controller set at 15-17 psi should be your first round of upgrades based on what you've already got. yeah I have it ste at 13-14 and I have all those basic mods and it seems to be running fine now ecept for excessive end play on the turbo....I dont know what is holding it togather but I am keeping t mild.
 
Make sure you know how to launch with the a/t. If you dont already know how to power brake do a search. The a/t can be slow off the line unless you launch right. And practice.
 
simply put power braking just hold the brakes and add as much throttle as you can until you hit your stall speed on your tq converter then just let go of the brakes and give it gas. You will destroy a stock neon(not including srt-4)

yeap , neons are slow as poo. I mean and shotty pieces of machinery to add onto the whole slow thing.
