mm'k I've only had about 3 months experience driving a manual tranny..I learned on an Acura legend, and eventually got to where I could go from full stop to go, very smoothly. But I got my gsx now..and I can't seem to figure out the right footwork to get it off smoothly, it always feels like it's about to die whenever i go from stop to going. i give it plenty of gas, but I'm guessing i'm just not doing the gas/clutch work right. I can get it off smoothly if I get the rpms up to like 1500 first but that burns the clutch out easily. I ALWAYS have that clutch burning smell! I've already had people telling me 'oh just let the clutch out slowly' and that still doesn't help cause i'm doing doing everything they say to do. So i'm just looking for advice on exactly how to hm pretty much go from full stop to go..thanks. Oh yea and if it helps, I just got an act 2600 installed about a month ago.

ACT's are not smooth. Rev to 1500 and drop the clutch quicker. In time, you will learn the perfect combo, but for now accept that this is a learning curve. Forget everything that you learned on the Honda.

hmm that won't burn the clutch?? haha and it was an acura..my friend has an 89 supra and i've noticed that he barely gives it any gas before letting out the clutch.

The adjustable clutch slave rod from RRE _might_ make that release more smoothly. Otherwise, it's mostly practice and knack. You'll learn to get the off-the-clutch, on-the-gas figured out with time.
Then you'll get a date to Frisco, and she'll think you're _far_ too clumsy to be allowed to fiddle in her garden.

Honda = Acura. I hope it didn't have a powered by Acura sticker on it. You have a pretty heavy duty clutch in your car vs. a stock clutch in a 130hp wonder. It is going to take time to learn but until then keep the rev's under 1500 when initially starting out so you don't turn your clutch into dust.

I learned how to drive in a gsr swapped civic, that car compared to my car is a laugh and a half, no pressure in the honda.

ummm.. the 95 acura legend was 200 hp, maybe the old ass 80 legends were less, but I never think a legend only had 130 hp..

not that it really matters...
