Best MPH and lanch ever. I should have gotten an 8.8 or even an 8.7....

I couldn't get into 2nd. At all. After the great launch my car just sat with me trying to work it into 2nd and it refused to go in. Revved the car and pushed it in with a grind and played catch up. Damn you 120k mile synchros! Damn you to hell!

Oh, my mods are 3" from the turbo back, 14 psi, K&N, and some weight reduction. I really wanted to be in the 8's too. Oh...

and my car died on the track later that night. A bunch of clicks from the radio and the car bucking on and off? Power fading on and off with insane back firing? I pray I just have leaking capacitors that didn't decide to take the ECU with it....trailoring a car at 230AM sucks. Especially when you have to figure out a way to get to class at 8am .
 
Hey Oreopride it's mark from SRO. I had the EXACT same problems as you last night. I was at the illegals, and I ran some integra twice and couldn't hit 2nd. All I got was 4 seconds of grinding before giving up. I've got nearly the same mods as you too..

After running my car hard all night, it sputters, has no power, backfires like crazy, and car dies while I'm cruising. I already changed the plugs with no luck. The turbo whine is REALLY loud, and the lag got much much worse. I'm about to order a leak tester right now from MachV. A compression check will be under way too.

I'm in the same boat as you, man. Rather than have it towed at 3am I decided to let it sputter back to my house. Feels like it's running off 3 cylinders.

Yea, I'm 100% sure it's the ECU because it could run perfectly fine until get this insane clicking from the radio. The lights and power flutters until the car dies/picks up.

Oh well, I'm going to see how soldering some new ones will do in an hour or so. If it doesn't work then I guess I'm getting that ebay ECU :cry:

At least I'll be at 8.4-8.5ish or so with the MUCH better tires and lighter rims in 2 weeks :thumb: Going from H-rated 205/50s on the stockers to 225/45s Z rated on 13.5 pound Slipstreams.

Btw, I had your same problem to the detail last year. I was running on 3 cylinders and thought I had a bad coil. Turned out the "used plug wires" I got off of trader were crap. put the 110k stockers back on and all 4 cylinders were running (eventialy got some Accel's though)
 
I'm running 1 month old Accel wires, so I don't think that's the case for me. It might be the coil, but that doesn't explain the very late spool up and incredibly loud turbo whine. Boost leak is my suspicion.

I'm so pissed at my car. Early in the night I took a 350Z from a 3rd gear roll. Then when my car started acting up, I nearly lost to an old Corolla! Oh well, I really wanted a new transmission but with all these problems coming up it's going to have to wait.
 
No disgrace here. Besides the bad time I beat some shit talker with a "H22 powered Accord." :laugh: He ran a 10.1 and there is no way I was going to grind THAT bad.
 
my synchros are just as bad as yours....i cant go past 5k and if i even get over 4k, i need to wait a second to get it into second or it just sits and grinds...im going to the track this friday...every1 expects me to run good however im not expecting below 15 due to my damn tranny. im running k&n 2.5" exhaust, 2.5" uicp w/ HKS SSQ, 15psi and thas all....i just got new plugs wires and tires too so i shouldnt have much engine problems.
