Hey guys there is some punk that talks alot of $hit about 4 cylinders and he thinks that his v6 automatic camaro is fast. His car has exhaust system with highflow cat, some stupid Jet-Chip, *1oo shot of Nitrous, My car is a stock 94 awd turbo 5 speed, i wanna race him behind the college from a stop , do u guys think i have a chance ? or should i wait until get some mods done to my car , if i turn up my boost to 15 psi with exhuast and intake would i be able to take him?

Your stock, he'll hand you your ass... even slightly modded i still think he'd take you.

But i guess you can ricer your way out of this one, if your race will be shorter than 1/4th mile :)

Do a few mods, practice launching, and go race him. Sometimes the RWD guys freak out when they see an AWD car leave them at the line and they try to catch up but only end up spinning the tires harder.

I understand where you are coming from, people with Camaros think they are racing Gods, just remind him his car depreciated in value by 80% by the time he bought it, as most Camaros do. I wouldn't race a low-reliable, high-powered American muscle car with Nos. But all the same, I know where your comin from, if he pisses u off more, remember his gas tank doesn't have an release-from-inside lock.

Have him spray anyways that way he has no excuse that he lost to you. V6 +100 shot = still SLOW it will run 15's in the 1/4 mile trap speed of 94 mph. All you need to do is some practice launchs at about 4000 -4500 rpm and you should wax him. If you are able to put a bleeder on and raise the boost it would really be bad for him.

Lol as of now im boost spiking , which is scary =(* my gauge was readin 12 psi and now it goes to 15 psi .. i dont kno if i tapped the gauge wrong , i tapped it to the fuel pressure regulator line, i read in a site i found here that its good to tap it there since u can find out if u fuel pressure regulator is gettin any pressure.http://www.roadraceengineering.com/instructions/vdoboostgaugeinstructions.htm that is the site that told me to tap it there... but i guess as long as i dont spike higher than 15 psi until i get some money to get a booost controller and to fix whatver i causing it to spike. Btw what could be causin boost spike? i think those automatic v6 2001 run like 16's or something like that.. well thanx anyway

No... Try 13's@100-106. Now the 3.4 liter V6 with 160 hp would run about that time.

Yes, the average auto V6 runs a low 16@86... but beware.. a few have ran low 15's@88 stock... it all seems to depend on the driver, and if the car has a LSD or not...

If it doesn't have an LSD, and has stock tires, you should get out damn well on the guy from a stop...

ok here is how it is:
if he runs without the NOS you will run all over him i know i have done it before on a similarly equiped V-6 camaro and remember im FWD.

with the NOS i think it is BS. i really dont think he is running a 100 shot.
just race him and find out. if its like a 60 shot you will be pretty close but remember to launch on him with the awd and scare him.

And about the boost spike you are safe at 15 psi. that is what i run all the time.

hahah v 6 camaros are slow even if modded....my friend in his 87 fx corolla beat 2 of them...and thats a slow car, but wiht nos if they get traction they can probly take you unless you can get him off the launch....But i may suggest go to a track...i dont konw thats just me though

what year is it? cause the 96 and up has 200 hp stock. do you know if he has any other mods? like a torque converter? and to that guy who said "I wouldn't race a low-reliable, high-powered American muscle car with Nos." first of all this is a v6. thats not a high-powered american muscle car. and low reliable? if this is a 96 and up it has the 3800 3.8L engine from the grand prix (buy milk down the street car). the 3800 sure as hell doesnt have the crank walk prob that soooo many dsms get. and even the actual muscle car for the camaro... the z28 5.7L v8 is very reliable!!! they go 150 -200k with hard driving/taking care of it. and the lt1s and ls1s can take a 150 shot stock!!! look im not trying to attack i just cant stand it when the f bodys get shit on 4 dumb reasons. later

well, I don't think an auto v6 F-body will take you. They are still heavy, and remember, even if he has 200hp, he still only has like 230 lbs of torque.

The 3800 is a good engine, but its not a V8. Last week at the track there were several later model V8 F-cars that ran high 14's low 15's. Of course there are gonna be those in the 12's as well, but that is NOT the v6 car.

Your car stock will run high 14's low 15's. No way the v6 car will touch that. Period.

If he has a 100shot, AND the fuel to support it, it may be different, but still, have a go. It will be close, unless someone breaks etc.

If he has the older v6, good luck to him, he will need it. Great engine, just too small for the F-body. Heck, we don't even know what year it is.

Do some cheap/free mods, and you will be much better off for sure.

ahh V6's are just wana be hotrods anyway it's like a V6 mustange with a saleen sticker on the window... you looks good untill u see whats under the hood or hear it for that matter LOL.. unless your up agenst a Z28 or older 86+ Iroc either of which with TPI.. then your fine i would say.. watch out for the 80 model Iroc's with TPI or 94+ Z28's though they can be made pretty fast

So yeah, the stock 89 mph is on par with many stock timeslips i've seen out of GS-T's and GSX's... but yeah, V6 f-bodies are slow, just like every other car out there but DSM's! Go get 'em tiger! :)

just race him! dont be such a ####y. the worst that can happen is you lose. i think it is a pretty close match anyways. whoever is the better driver will win. and if everyone thinks your the underdog than what do you have to lose

I really wanna race , i juss need to race, it feels good racing LOL .. and nobody around here knows the potential of my car they juss think its a slow little box car.. But to let u guys know my real dream is to have a heck of a autoX car and to be able to drift it =) Initial D style .. If i only had an evo4 =): .. thanx guys anyone around jersey id be cool to meet with some of the dsm tuners, i never see any around here
