Well there was the annual CMI Summer Nationals in Sacramento Raceway in CA yesterday.
These events are typically full of Honda's breaking stuff but today was different
It was an awfully hott day in Sac my truck temp said 103* when we arrived at 2 pm
They put me and another buddy Mike (Audi2ptzero) in class T4 w/ the quickest/fastest slicks/skinnies, full caged, 145+ mph Hondas at the event........it was the "pro" class, heads-up, pro tree :crap:
I'm car # 121
We had 2 qualifying passes and the first was terrible mis-firing in all gears
Got back to the pit and pulled the logs and plugs and couldn't figure out what was up so we swapped plugs for insurance and Sean my tuner messed w/ the map.
Next run was lined up next to Mike and things got a little better no missing and pretty clean pull i let off as they were being total A-holes about needing a license for going over 135mph even though the Honda guys were flying into the 145+ range
Unfortunately Mike's clutch took a poop on him and put him on the trailer

So w/ that i was qualified #4 in an 8 car field w/ Lisa Kubo in the #1 spot running a 10.0 @ 155+ mph
Round #1 (Turbo hatchback 30r) Tune was still off a bit on my car

Round #2 (Turbo Integra ?size) He advanced after being up against Lisa in round #1 him being low qualifier #8

That put me into the final round against a 2 door coupe BIG turbo honda.
We finally figured out what was up w/ the car...... we were running it on the pump gas map for some reason and so Sean thrashed to get the right tune up in her and once he knew what was up we went from -8* of timing in the top of 4th to 2* (tried to stay conservative and leaned out the afr's)
Needless to say IT PHUKEN WORKED! And boy did we need it w/ the Honda fly down the back-end.............

Ended up taking home the win, a kool little trophy and some cash
And to top it all off a new personal best in both ET and MPH by a long shot!
I know the mph needs to be backed up but it was the final round so there was no more racing and we were just going nuts about the WIN anyway
I'm really confident that she can breech the 9 sec range i think we are onto something here
