Hey guys! I have a new talon and have been building it into a drag car for the last few months. My goals are to build a mid to low 10 second, STOCK 6 bolt, T4 60-1 car. With the car weighing only around 2600lbs with me in it. The car is going to be show quality, every little detail of the car! Every part will be re furbished, re painted and or replaced. I have a build thread on dsmtalk soo i cant leave out the DSMtuners!

I have been busting my ass doing the body work on the car for the last few months or soo and gettting it ready to be primed and painted.
The car will be different, i swapped out the 1gb front end for a 1ga pop healight front end, i removed the rear spoiler and swapped on a laser hatch, for a smooth look in the back, and am going to keep the 1gb sideskirts. Its going to look awsome when im done, and i cant wait to paint it.

Here's a bunch of my progress pictures, enjoy!.......

This is my custom aluminum sheet floor i fabbed up. I will be mounting a 10 gallon fuel cell on the top and then building a firewall around it with an acsess door, like Shep's old fuel cell set up.

Well my lower rad support was all bent and jacked up, literally, so i decided to cut it out and weld this 1" square tube in. It also gives me lots of room for intercooler piping. I just have to weld up brackets for the intercooler and radiator.

looks good. You should take that out and make an outline of it and sell the outline. or make another one to sell me:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::rocks:

Haha thats a good idea, but all you have to do is get some sheets of poster board and make a template then trace it over to the aluminum and cut it out! And thats that! ;)

Looks good, real good. im a student in chassis fabrication right now at wyotech, and your welds and metal finishing look real good. Keep us up to date

I hacked the pop-up headlight assembly so i can just use the mounting points for the headlight covers and fix them in place, Im going to be using some small aftermarket headlamps in there place and have them shine threw the bottom light pieces.

Thank you, the car is comming along nice and almost ready to be primed! I have a lot more pics and progress not posted yet so it wont be long before more pics.

looks good man i'm gonna be making my own door panels like yours. i guess you could say i'm doing a similar build in the sense that i'm trying to make it as clean as possible. blasted and powdercoated k-member,rear subframe, control arms, and all new hardware as well. keep up the good work.

I pulled the dash out and removed the entire Interior harness. Im going to make my own harness with just headlights, tail lights, turn signals, start, etc, NOT GOING TO BE FUN. But i only want whats needed.

Here are the last few things i have to do on the bodywork. This is going to be fun fixing.:notgood: Its ok it dosent have to be perfect because the side trim covers it up.
And im going to have to try and straighten out the pinch weld along the bottom of the car. It is all bent up from one of the previous owners jacking up the car.

This spot was so wavy so i grinded it down only to find lot of bondo, it was hit here im guessing and covered up very badly, I then layed this new bondo. Still needs alot of work, alot of high and low spots. Body work is never ending!

Your car is looking good. I wish i knew how to do body work .... well atleast i gota friend that does it for a living. Keep your progress pics coming. I was starting to buy stuff for my project car but i only got the bottom end done so far. I also have a precision sc61 but i was thinking of trading it back with the shop and getting something bigger.

How does That Seat fit in there? I've been looking at getting similar style seats for my 90 Talon. The Corbeau Forza II's They are for a 46" waist i do belive, And i've been wondering about fitments. How is clearance on the sides for your seat?

You need to come do the body work for me LOL I'm a motor and concept guy and a dash of tuning but body work I am def a noB ROFL

Haha yea im a mechanic myself this is actually the first time tackling body and paint on my own, But ive learned from the best and if i ever had any questions i had a awsome go-to guy.(25 years experience) and also having all the tools to do the job also helps out a whole lot.

They fit pretty good, just have to get it positoned right, unless you have sliders on the brackets, Mine is bolted directly in place.
