Is it just me or is this series going down the toilet?I went to the first 3 events this season and the turn out sucked.I was espicially disappointed with the turn out at E-Town which usaully always has full fields and then some.I think big corporations f up the series like GM.what do you guys think??????

It is going down the toliet because you need big time money and sponsors to compete.
Too many rules and regulations to conform. There trying to make it like NHRA which imports will never become. They need to go back to more grassroots type racing.

I raced in SFWD at e-town. Definitly expected alot more cars. I know NOPI at MIR next weekend will be packed so I think for nhra its just seen as having too many rules. Racers were turned away for not having catch pans and fuel sample valves.

that is why we stick mainly to idrc, boti and occasionaly cmi and sometimes nopi if it gets close to the west.

I ablsolutley have noticed this as well. I attended the va stop a few weeks ago. They were even letting in all armed forces for free which I believe was just a ploy to bring more of a crowd in. It's a shame but I don't think they will last much longer if they don't change. I also heard a lot of stories of the tech just being ridiculous which is chasing a lot of the amatuer racers away. They need more than 2 car's per pro class to make it work.

I have been import racing for more than 20 years even before it became a big thing. The NHRA has been paying out less and pocketing more money for themselves.I have a modified class car i didnt pass tech for the nhra because i didnt have a fuel sample valve.i think not having it is not a big deal.NHRA forgot about the grassroots guys who got it started back in the day.I remember a time imports were not allowed in englishtown(they basically said you didnt pass tech and couldnt race).Atco Raceway was the only track that let us race and now they have the biggest import event in the world (Pan Americans)which gets bigger and bigger each year. This year would be the 14th year this event and ive been to each and every one.I can honestly say they draw 100,000 fans over the entire weekend.People would literally park on the side of the road and walk 2 miles to track.NHRA got too big too fast.I remember in 2001-2003 the fields were packed all motor was a 16 car field with 25-30 cars trying to qualify same thing for hot rod.there was always a full field in every class.usaully e town got about 500-600 competitors this year about 70-80 competitors.check out past events on nhras site and see how many cars were there.
