Okay so it was a stock R33 GTST but I still beat a freaking Skyline. I was in the staging lanes at Muncie Dragway a week ago and I look in the other lane and what am I surprised to see but a white Skyline. I was thinking "Oh great I am about to get my ass handed to me!" But when the trees lit and the race was over; I ran 14.27 to his 14.89. I'm sure he doesn't know how to drive but still I am proud of myself. :)

hahah... I raced a stock R32 GTR when I was stock. It was when MotoRx first brought the skylines out here. I am lucky enough to live next to the company so I seen the guy driving around and he actually asked me to run. Needless to say I was embarrassedWTF

Good kill though

LOL, thanks guys. This is the only one in the area I believe, I am not sure where he got it but I know he only paid 16,500 for it so I guess he got a decent deal. I didn't talk to him much because I know he loves the attention that having a Skyline gets him so I purposely ignored it, LOL.

sweet, yea not to long ago i raced a gtr34 skyline at sport compact nationals , it was a show car no performance mods, it ran like a 13.9 or a 14.1 or something to my 12.40 LOL. ive got video of it somewhere.

I was at Muncie last Friday as well in my GVR4. I was only 1 car away from running the Skyline my last run of the night, instead I lined up against an LS1. No biggie though I still beat the LS1, I ran 13.5 @ 104.8 on pump gas with my small 16g he ran like a 15.0 @ 99mph.ROFL

Go get 'em Corey. I should be there next Wednesday to see what the 2.3 and 50 trim will put down on pump and high boost. Keep your fingers crossed!

I am going one more time too but I think it will be in October. Good luck with the 2.3/50Trim combo, if I can make it down next week I will but I have some changes I want to make before my next outing so I doubt it. I want a ride too by the way, so swing by sometime.

LOL...he cant drive for sOMGit

hey stanford, were you there with the gray/silver 1g that was in the 12's? That car was pretty sick.

Yea, him and the guy in the Blue 1g. Both run low 12's but the Blue one had clutch issues last week.

As for the LS1, I know he wasn't a great driver or at least not on that run. However, no excuses and really it doesn't matter anyway. I am there for me more than anything to beat my previous bests. Someone will always be faster last Friday they just never lined up next to me. I beat a 5.0, SC Monte V6, LT1, and LS1 that night.

I'm doing some new chip testing in the next few days and then I want to keep working on my spool issues. Once that's done, maybe we'll head down together and you can certainly have a ride.

I've beaten a GTR... In my STi. They arent as fast as everyone makes them out to be.

Stock no, but they've got great potential with minimal work done to them. Its the gagitry that makes them so popular. Thats a good kill though, love how alot of people under estimate the 4g63.;)

you people are so funny, the only rerason why you ae beating the skylines is because they got to adjust the cars to US requirements in order for them to be street legal, if they were how they were bought in japan, NO WAY IN HELL WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO SEE ONE, any car from japan stock is alot faster than the ones america makes., for example, the evo, the ones made is japan is much faster, I know because I use to own one in the caribbean. There is an island called ANTIGUA in the caribbean where all they do is street race, they have a track to, for a small caribbean island, they have so many skylines that are been driven on a daily basis, turbo starlets, honda integra's, subaru's that would LITERALLY beat any US street car once there power is matched, they modify there cars so different its amazing the kind of speed they get...go on youtube an type in ANTIGUA NIGHT RACING FOR YOURSELF OR look up anything to do with racing in ANTIGUA or JOHN I RACE TRACK IN ANTIGUA

The above post doesn't even make sense. MOST skylines in the U.S. are not street legal anyway. Very few people actually do the proper paperwork or manual labor to drive them on the streets legally. Most of them come over here exactly how they were in Japan. Saying that they're "detuned" or something for the U.S. is B.S. I've got a friend here in Dallas that is an importer of them for a living (and other cars) The only difference is the fuel in Japan is often better, so the timing maps can be different... even then, a lot (I'd guess most) people with skylines don't keep them very stock anyway.

More to the point... the Skyline has never been great based on it's stock HP (in any country) anyway. It's because their bottom ends are built so well, that you can throw almost anything at them. They respond well to boost. There are countless 800hp Skylines on the stock internals. THAT, and that they are (or some) AWD and have all the cool gadgetry.

Lets compare apples to apples here people. Lets see, of course a stock skyline (in any country) is going to be slower than a modified one anywhere else (Antigua or not)

Anyway, that must have felt nice beating him. Dope paid too much money for the name, it may help at a bar with the ladies, but obviously not at the track.

Good kill.

Also, let's all try to use a wonder of grammar and syntax: the period (.).

Fuel in Japan isn't better. The octane ratings are different because of the calculations used. They rate it by the RON (research octane number) only. We rate our fuel by averaging the RON with the MON (motor octane number), which results in our fuel being rated five points lower than the fuel sold in Japan. It's really the same.

Ah, good call. But they still offer 100+ though, right? so that's still a little better than even the 94 down here and on the east coast.

I digress and will quit hijacking. Good point though, thanks.

We may be funny but we can type and spell correctly.:p If your island island ANTIGUA has such a pletheria of SKYLINES that any of us would have NO WAY IN HELL WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO SEE ONE how would we know?

It's been years since I've been on the tropical paradise known as Okinawa, but if remember correctly, the highest I ever saw was 98 RON.

Dont worry about my spelling people, Only one guy had something good to say and that was pnishr. I understand where you are coming from but I've seen a skyline in New Jersey at EnglishTown, a R33 to be exact, he did 14 seconds, When I had a word with him asking him what was wrong, he explained to me that he had to change a view parts on his car in-order for it to be streetable in the US and to pass when he carried it to get it inspected by officials making sure it complied with all the US restrictions.
One person said he wanted to see some vids, go to youtube like I said, you'll be amazed to see these people cars and the kind of power they drive around on an everyday basis.

One thing to remember supa89, not all states enforce federal emissions standards. For exaple where I'm from there is no inspection whatsoever, but my fiance that lives in the next state 30 miles south has to have her car inspected ever year. My point is that it depends on local regulations and requirements of importing a car from overseas will ultimately determine weather or not you would have to have the car recalibrated. So if that is the case in Jersey that cars have to be recalibrated to be legal.....well that's just too bad for you guys :p
