Sharing on this board incase people don't check both. Got a chance to make it to the track yesterday after mostly solving some ignition issues. With half pump and half race gas I got to make some clean high boost pulls. Ran a bunch of mid 12's at 123. Got a 12.5 pass at 124.7 mph. Then after raising the boost I blew the plugs out (maybe during a mishift as well) and ruined them. Had to lower the boost. So I just started hot lapping the car. Ran a 12.45 at 117. I forgot to set the shock in the rear on stiff so I was giving up ~.1 on the ET and ~.2 in the quarter. I was dissapointed and happy at the same time when I found that out. I don't know if I will push the car this hard again this year because it won't hold any more power on street tires. This winter I'd like to put some traction to the power as I should have the power for 11's on racing tires and a LSD.

This is a 1990 fwd, 2850lbs, stock catback w/cutout, stock wheels with dunlop SP Sport A2 all seasons. Aside from the FMIC its a stock looking car.

I just wanted to give you props on the sweet RTs. it's one thing to pull that once, but consistent launches like that, you need to be driving a faster car. :thumb:

Damn, that is some back halfin on the first time slip. You picked up over 32 mph. That thing must have felt like a rocketship after the 1/8.

It actually isn't scary. Its very level and smooth. The only scary part is slowing down. The rear end gets quite light.

After driving a pro tree all season, the sportsman tree on saturday was a joke. I was not trying to work the tree. That is me relaxing and taking off when I'm ready actually.

OMG OMG OMG . That is incredible. Dude, you need some cams and a smim so that you can break the 50 trim trap speed record. Great job.

I take it your makign more than the 314whp advertised in yoru profile?? Either way damn good mph you got there. You really need to get some slicks on that beast and run mid elevens all day long.

Probably. I made the 314 at 22 psi boost. I run 30-32 now with more timing, an aftermarket O2 housing, and a 91 exhaust cam.

EDIT:

Last year I was running 13.2's at 111 on a 314hp tune FWIW.

I run 31psi on a 60-1 on my stock motor. Been doing it for a long time. I use a mitso OEM composite head gasket too with arp head studs. 125k mile shortblock, perfect compression for 2 years of 28psi+. :)

how is your headgasket holding up to all of that??

It was fine at the track. However on the way home I put pump gas in for the 80 mile trip. Then my buddy with a mid 12 second at 111 mph awd got beside me and wanted to play. I mean, I know I had pump gas in, but I was just gonna hit it and let off. Well then I started screwing off spinning my tires in 3rd at 90 mph leaving marks on the road.

I continued the rest of my drive home, knowing it was knocking but didn't really care as I was actually trying to see what it takes to break the motor. Park it and it was pissing a little coolant. It is still driveable, but is coming apart to put ARP headbolts in it. I'm not sure, but I MAY be going with an OEM headgasket and not a mitsu metal. I'll be keeping the stock bottom end but pulling the balance shafts. The head needs overhauled. Its stock and its a mess.

Some pictures I've put up other places and may as well put up here. I'm doing some things to aide in traction, loose weight, and add just a little more horsepower. Mostly free stuff......

this car is pretty crazy, im assuming ## tuning with the translator?? if so ## doing a damn good job, keep up the good work. Im also fwd and debating on which turbo to do this time, the pte50 trim seems like a good choice.

I like that seat. Where did you get it from and did you happen to weigh it?

Summit. As you can tell I'm fabbing it up. Since I don't have the pedals or steering wheel in the car I can't locate the final holes. I was just testing to see that the alumiumn brackeds I made in the mill would be strong enough and at the proper placement. They are plenty strong, probably enough to lift the car by! I suggest going steel however if you can't hit up a milling machine because the studs in the front of the seats require you to remove some material so that you have enough threads to safely attach the nuts to. At the same time the rest of the bracket has to be thick enough (5/8 inch in my case) to be strong. I would also order *tested* 6061 alumiumn if you are to do that. McMastercarr will explain what I mean if you don't understand it. Its basically metal tested for flaws. 72" is enouth for both seats if you cut perfect.
