first time at track, stupid boost leak!

I got to go racing today at rock falls in WI. It was my first time, I got in 8 runs which was really nice. My clutch is awesome! I am low on power as of now. I was on race gas(110) just to be safe, i ran 22 PSI on my first run and 16 PSI on another good run. All on a 14b! with mods in my profile.

its not me its the car! hence the 1.9 60' and i shifted at like 7200 1-2 and 7000 2-3 and near 6500 3-4

youre shifting way to high for a 14b... try 7k first and 6600 2nd and 6k 3rd and 4th... thats how i shift... and higher than 18 psi and your pushing hot air on that 14b... i lost a half a second trying to get more boost above 18 on 110 octane
 
ok well at 14-22 it ran within .4 seconds of each other, plus for my mods that is slow as hell. I also didnt know it had a boost leak till I got home. It wasn't bad until my way home. I have some ghetto ass intercooler piping!

how do you hit 22 psi and get no fuel cut with just a rewired fuel pump

when i was stock i couldnt go past 18 psi without getting fuel cut
 
im not sure but it has something to do with a rewired pump and 110 octane. i got no knock at all, and my timing was at 19-22 at 6000+. I got a new UICP today and hopefully that works out alot better.
 
fuel cut is also dependant on barometric pressure and intake temperature so i guess people can hit fuel cut at different psi. i can hit 20psi on my 14b without hitting fuel cut, but i'm sure that once it starts getting cooler again, fuel cut would hit a lot sooner.

as for your times, they weren't that great considering the mods and psi you're pushing. i would check for boost leaks, compression test, etc.

i ran a 14.2 on a broken 14b, no 2nd gear, and 90+ degree weather on the stock fuel pump and bald tires. my compression is horrible (115 on 2 cylinders and 135 on the other 2).

80.65 MPH???? and a 14.4 e/t doesnt make sense
 
Sorry to come in late on this post. I saw that you ran @ Rock Falls Raceway, WI. That's the track I always go to. If I remember, that weekend was a humid 90 degress. 8 runs in that weather? Your car must hate you. I haven't gone in a month because every track day has been over 90 degrees which is hell on a stocker sidemount.

Go on the Fun Days instead of the Sport Compact days. They prep the track much, much better and you actually have some competition, instead of 16 second hondas. Watch out for the 10 second muscle cars though.

Fix those leaks and catch a 70 degree day. You'll see your mph increase significantly.
 
yeah me and a couple of other DSMers are gonna go up there on a fun day next time. And hopefully i can hit a low 13. I dont know whats up with those times. I should be way lower than i am. oh well maybe next year.
