Man, im kinda disgusted. I took my car to Pittsburgh Raceway being the 1st day on Saturday and needless to say i was dissapointed. Well first off I kept missing 2nd and 3rd gear and at the end of 3rd my charge piping on the driver side after the intercooler kept blowin apart  . Keep in mind i didnt touch the gas after 3rd and i max'd out 3rd by the 8th or 1000ft. mark and i still mustered a 14.3 @ 84 w/ a 1.8 60 ft time. But i believe my best run of the day some how was a 15.02 cause my 60 ft. was 1.71 and my trap was some how 98.xxmph but that run i still missed second and 3rd. WTF can i do to fix this missing problem. I find that if i dont launch it i hit second every time w/ out lifting off the gas. Mods are in profile. :talon: :thumb:

when you are staging and setting up, push the clutch in and put it in first. Then with the clutch still in, shift to second, then back to first. Do this a few times. This helps to line up the syncros for the 1-2 shift. When i do this, i never grind and it goes in nice and smooth! Im not sure if it works for 3rd gear though.

Step1 for 94Jettameowpsst to get a faster time - One tighten your clamps better with some nice T-bolt clamps from napa.

Step2 for 94Jettameowpsst to get a faster time - Learn to drive stick.

Step3 for 94Jettameowpsst to get a faster time - do what he said ^^^ Clutch in... 2nd then into 1st while clutch is still in and start revving for the launch...

Step4 for 94Jettameowpsst to get a faster time - try some Redline tranny fluid, I shifted like butter after that no more grinding into 3rd or 4th or anything really...

I always shift with the clutch in before I race, 1-2, 2-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-2, 2-1, then rev it up and let it loooose.

I guess i should have said that i have pennzoil synchromesh in my tranny and i did do the whole 1-2 2-1 thing quite a few times. I believe i have a problem w/ my slave cylinder and/or pedal assembly. Secondly, i can drive a stick, its not the driver its the car  . I do need the t-bolts though. Do they really make that much of a difference? Oh, one other thing, is taking off the exaust manifold the only way to tell if your valve seals are bad, cause i dont have any oil on my plugs?

If the car wont shift that fast then shift slower. It's faster to shift it slow than to miss it all together. I've gone through so many trannys from trying to speed shift them when they are old an used. I'm sure it would work a lot better if the tranny was in better condition.

If you can't get t bolt clamps for some reason, use two worm gear pipe clamps on each end of tubing connections. One at the ends of the piping and another behind that. You might even try putting one on the very end of the intercooler pipe as close as possible, it keeps the rubber connector from doin the bubble effect which blows em off.

Thanks for all the responses everyone, as for the 2 worm clamps together, yea thats how i keep my maft from coming off the end of the maf itself. As for the tranny, well i didnt think it was in bad condition, im the second owner of the car and have all the recipts for the maintenance of the car. The guy "supposedly" didnt beat on the car, and i kinda believe it considering it still had the orig. clutch......BURNT UP. I do think it is the pedal assembly giving me the troubles along with the slave and/or the master cylinder. Ill try the welding and see how that helps, who all has welded thier pedal assembly?
