any suggestions as to reaching my best time on the track? never been before...dont wanna make a Total ass of myself (which i know ill manage to pull of anyways with the time i get). but yeaah. anyone have strategies or tricks or anything like that theyd like to share? ive heard that just slammin it into WOT right off the bat isnt the greatest idea...am i properly informed? hit me back.

Sure first instinct is to flame, but I'll refrain this time :D it's an esi auto, isn't too much you can do, brake torque it at the line, and let her go, if you get wheel spin, keep it mashed it should ride through it, if it acually spins enough that you don't feel like your going anywhere then you want to back out of it, it will probably shift to 2nd at that point, then get back in it. Most likely it won't spin at all and just go, maybe you should bring a magazine with you so your not bored. :p (sorry had to, no offense)

MikeL, its all good man. yeah, i realize there isnt a whole hell of a lot i can do..heh. kinda sucks, but whatever. i like my car :) do you know about the WOT thing? and what do you mean break torque it?

thanx man

Not sure what you mean by the WOT thing, but break torquing is holding the break and applying gas at the same time, the engine should rev a bit and act like it wants to inch forward, when the light goes green (actually on the last yellow) let go of the brake and mash the gas. If people tell you to "nuetral drop" your car, don't it's very bad for the tranny.

dude seriously...
If your gonna try to go fast get a fast car..

esi auto = no hope
its just as bad tryin to go fast in a stock civic...

W/E if your gonna race brake torquing is the quickest route off of the line in your case. Once your staged hold the brake down a lot, and give it about 60% throttle (it will only reach a certain rpm whcih is called your stalling rpm), you will rev to ~2500 rpm and when the light hits 3rd yellow let go of brake and mash the pedal. There is no way that that car will keep spinning them, so just stay on it and wait till you pass the finish. Make sure if you do this, to let your car cool off for a while. This raises/boils the tranny fluid very quicklyand will damage your tranny/components if you dont allow cooling. Let it idle for a few mins than let the car cool for a few mins before you do it again. Good luck!

do the brake launch as high as it will allow. At close to redline, or maybe 6k, let off the gas quickly and stomp it back down. You should chirp 2nd. Keep it floored after this. Seems alright for me and my auto rs. If u wanna go fast get a fast car? nah, make a fast car. Buy a turbo kit.
