I was curious when people drop there clutch in a front wheel drive turbo. I have done upper IC piping w/greddy type s, plugs wires, intake, i am getting boost controller and turbo back exhaust before the next time i race. i will be running 16 psi. Where should i drop it to get traction and a good jolt.:dsm:

dont drop...SLIP
i rev to about 5k in bursts, then when the first yellow goes off i let her down to 3000, then slip it in from there.
i think its best to find your own method

Yeah don't dum in with a FWD all you gonna get if you dump it is a 3.0 60 foot LOL.

Thanks guys i appericate it next time i go to the track i will slip it

yea a gst takes alot more skill then a gsx to launch

slip the clutch to bout 10mph-15 or untill you feel it grab then mash the gas

It takes some skill just practice.

As far as droppin the clutch in a fwd.. unless you put on a smoke show then slip it:thumb:

dont doubt the skill required in a GSX either. There not exactly cake to launch, they just have better #s when they do launch good :)

I rev my car up to about 4500 and slip it out from there but everyones gonna be different depending on what they have done.

I slip mine from 4k. If I try 3500 or below, I'll bog at the line. It takes lots of practice. I've gone from 2.5-2.6 60 ft times to 2.1-2.15 60ft. Don't be scared to try new techniques, thats how you'll find one that works for you.

no you don't need to warm up the tires, just bark them to clean them off. Street tires aren't made to be warm up like that. Also play with the tire pressure. I run 22psi at the track. Don't go below 18psi for street tires.

It took me 3 passes to learn how to launch a AWD my first pass was 2.1 60 foot the sec 1.9 and the third 1.7. Yes, it takes lots of skill to launch an AWD. After 3 years of racing my FWD I still can't say what's the best way to launch a FWD car. I get 2.3's all the time but that's because my stock suspension is shot.

For those of you who have taken your FWD to the track, do you use 1st gear at all after you launch? I haven't had a chance to take my car to the track yet, but from what I have found just from driving around, 1st gear isn't good for anything but burning out at any throttle level. If i do anything more than feather my throttle in 1st i just roast the tires, even going into second i can only go about half throttle until i get into higher rpms, I usually shift around 3k rpms in 1st and about 5,500-6,000 rpms for every gear after that cuz it just doesn't feel like the T25 is doing much of anything past that.
