Slowest car you've raced/seen

My 89 Sidekick did 18.7 @ 69MPH...Intake and cat back exhaust...i must say i thgouth i was gonna be high 20's....but ya it was a blast taking that thing down the track. I raced a 80 Camaro and he ran a 18.1....i had him out fo the hole it was great...anyway just seeing who has seen slow cars at the track

I raced a mint condition mid eighty's Honda Civic once....he ran a blistering 22 sec 1/4.

I raced a ford festiva with a body kit, it was probably the funniest thing i have ever seen at the track, what made it more funny was that the dude was dead seriuos about racing the stupid thing, it did a mid 21

It was a 24 sec 1987 ford escort, but the funny thing is, it was a bracket car in NHRA pro class and it made it all the way to the finals.

Haha, the slowest car I ever raced was a DSM at the shootout, because it broke of course. One year I ran a 20.xx something against someone because my fuel trims were screwed up.

The slowest I've raced was an Evo. It was probably the kid's first time down the track. He was on the line for almost 2 seconds after the light went green. He ran a 16.1, I ran a blistering 14.8 . Past that I always seem to get lined up vs. the only grand national at the track....lucky me. Fortunately I always smoke them off the line, until 3rd gear.......

My funniest track racing happened last year but not in my talon haven't taken it to track yet hopefully this season.

I have a 96 z28 convertible and it had some mild mods at the time.It was one of those track days that you get to race pretty much anything in the same class short of full on race cars.

I lined up beside a blue honda civic and it had turbo and nitrous.The guys were saying how it should run an easy 14 and how it should destroy my car beside them but for some reason maybe due to the car being purple well actually I bought it for the wife as that is her favorite color...anyway seeing its purple and a vert and the z28 emblems are black they don't show up very well at all.I also had nitto drag tires on the car that day.

So we staged and lined up and I ran a 14.3 at 96mph with a 2.18 60ft.The turbo nitroused civic ran a 16.5 at like 85mph with a 2.8 60ft.He spun the tires right off that car and think had backed out of it as likely no way he could hook up ,pretty sure he was on street tires.
I don't think he got a better time all day.I was buslengths ahead of him.I tenth is roughly one car length!! So twenty carlengths ahead.

A bit later on he wound up beside my vert in the staging lanes again and asked the track official if he could race a different car!! Pretty funny.Them talking all the typical smack the first time I was beside them.

Next race after that I raced a honda de sol and it ran 17.0. I beat a 5.0 mustang vert after that that did a 16.0 and lost to a buddies 99 trans am that ran 14.2 but later in the night ran 13.4.He was on street tires.And lost to an older like 70s mustang that ran 14.0 at 100mph with like a 2.0 on et streets ,serious drag tires.

Also I think some of the slowest cars there were ford focuses pretty sure they were in the 18s or 19s.They weren't turbo of course.

And even a srt 4 and wrx both never saw 14s that day.But pretty sure you can chalk that up to bad driving.Its not easy to drive manual cars at the track.My vert is an auto.Big advantage for 1/4 mile racing.No shifts to miss or short shift or hit the rev limiter.

Hoping to run my talon this year and hoping to for sure see some low to mid 12s after I get my cams and clutch in and buy some new big fmic.I would think it should be easily doable with my 50 trim.

I also expect my vert to hit mid to low 13s this year off nitrous and low mid to low 12s on spray.But you can't run the spray or be faster than 13.5 without a rollbar and not putting one in.

I ran a 17.2 @ 82 with my dodge avenger. My car was supposed to be the designated crap hauler, but we decided that I should find out what my beast would run. The best part was, I ran next to my buddies mustang gt with sidepipes and a 100 shot. He ran a 13.6 due to bad tranny and i couldn't even see the back of his car by the end. The lady handing out the time slip could barely keep from laughing. All in all it was a good night.

There is a girl that drives a pink civic at our local track. Auto w/ I/E and some 40hp graphics. She pulled off an amazing 21 flat.

Ive also seen a bike stall at the line and trip the light, fire it back up, had a sandwich, went WOT and still ran a 10.9. Unreal.

I've seen some slow cars. 18.5 second Eclipse RS (automatic), some 19-20 second Hondas, etc. Slow cars are good bracket cars though as they're so consistent. There's a local guy with a high 17 second Pontiac that wins almost all the time.

Fastest I saw locally at a test and tune... Mustang launches HARD, stalls, takes a second to restart. Ends up running 8.5 at some incredible mph... Very impressive.

our 1974 beetle we got the classic plates on it.. lets just say that it finishes the quater mile before it can reach 60mph .. therefore its quarter mile time is quicker then its 0-60... a disgrace to my household however its a sweet little convertable
