I'm going to be taking her up to Palmdale within the next few weeks, but some people are telling me not to bother until I get a new clutch. The stock clutch still grabs some, but I don't want to have to tow it home if I fry my clutch. I should be getting an ACT by the end of the month. What do you guys think? Mods are in my profile. Thanks. :talon:

are you still on the stock 14b? if so I wouldnt lose sleep to much over the fact that youre clutch is stock, if its going to let go its going to let go anyways right.
if you feel the clutch slipping at the track immediately stop racing it easily drive it home and swap it. chances are it wont leave you stranded, I drove around with a blown clutch for waaaaay to long and the car never left me stranded.

Yes its the stock 14b compressor side but I swapped the exhaust side for a ported 7cm w 34mm wg flapper. I think I will run it anyways and do like you said. I'd like to see what time I can run before I do the clutch swap. Thanks

Do you feel your stock clutch slipping at all? If not you should be fine, my clutch was not slipping I don't think, unless I couldn't feel it up top and I managed to make my clutch look like shredded wheat. Unless you can hear or feel the clutch not holding during a launch or past the 1/8th I would say you should be fine.

It doesn't seem to slip, but I baby it when I drive. I also haven't turned up the boost past 12 psi. When I go to the track I plan on turning it up to 16-17 and running race gas. Hopefully I'll get into the 13's. :talon:

no problem...i have run many low 13 sec times with stock clutch....it will hold up for abit but once you get home agian then do the act....

A low 13 would be really nice. I'm leaning towards taking the car to Roadrace so they can do the clutch. I remember helping my brother do his clutch swap on his 1st gen and it was a PITA. If it was as easy as doing a Starion clutch, I'd go for it again but damn, that was a bi***.
