First off all my mods are in my profile. I am happy with the way the car is running right now but I know it has more in it. If only I could tune this pile.

Well I started off the night with a few pump gas runs. First run ran into some knock in 4th because of the no lift to shift. Here's the breakdown on that run.

60' 1.867
330 5.499
1/8 8.513
MPH 82.24
1000 11.109
1/4 13.327
MPH 100.76

Like I said I ran into some knock when I went into 4th so I decided to do another run. Poured in 5 gallons of 110 but didn't up the boost. This time I lifted on the 3-4 shift and no knock, so this is basically what it would do on pump if I had lifted but my gaslight was way beyond on and I didn't wanna run out of gas halfway down the track.

60' 1.899
330 5.496
1/8 8.485
MPH 83.07
1000 11.051
1/4 13.210
MPH 103.89

I was very happy with both of these runs since my goal for the night was 13.5 on pump. This time I turned the boost up a bit and went up against 44pirate. Stage and get on the 2 step. Launch and I hear this loud pop and I let out of it, I thought I broke something. Go to get back in it and hear it again, I let out completely and coast down the track to a 31 sec at 25 mph. I was so convinced I broke something until I got back around to the pits and everyone was talking about how big George's backfire was. I guess it happened at just the right time but he let out a good 8 foot flame on the launch and again on the 1-2 shift, I thought it was my car snapping an axle. DOH!! So, now that the I know the car's not broke I get in line to make another run. It was to be the last of the night as the line was pretty long and it was getting late. I guess good things come to those who wait.

60' 1.778
330 5.313
1/8 8.249
MPH 84.60
1000 10.776
1/4 12.908
MPH 105.16

I had no idea what the boost was set at before I made this run, turned out to be a modest 21-22 psi. But I was ecstatic about running what I did so we called it a night. I got the holeshot against Andrew's Evo on the last run and crossed the line before he did but he still ran quicker and faster than I did. DOH!!

You must have some boost leaks or something, only trapping 105 with 21-22psi and race gas...you've got problems. I've got basically the same mods, minus the DSMLink. With a 10 minute tune my car traps almost 111mph on pump gas.

No boost leaks, no tune either. Just the injector compensation of DSMlink. My car is full weight, spare, jack, system all carpeting, everything. I'm not running an Evo 3 16g either. My buddy Josh was trapping 107 with the same mods I have at the same track. Maybe if I tune this pig I can get it moving a bit faster. And for some reason cars in every place other than FL seem to trap higher. Maybe something to do with the humidity?

Hmm, you should be pulling some better times. I ran an 8.11@84 mph @19 psi very very untuned. I had my MAS on sideways so I wouldn't fuel cut and wasn't going full throttle because I thought I would hit fuel cut.

Then the next run I ran 20 psi and gave it full throttle. Sadly I messed up on the launch and pulled an 8.49@85 mph with a 2.0 60 foot.

I have stock injectors, no tunning system, stock intake pipe and a few vacum leaks. So with dsm link I would think you should be able to pull some better times.

I'm going to have to call BS on your time. There is no way in hell you ran an 8.1 with a 2.0 60'. I went 1.7 60' and ran an 8.24@84. Just because I have DSMlink doesn't mean the car is tuned. It's still running basically off the injector compensation of DSMlink. Keep in mind this is a full weight 2G with a SMALL 16g. It is not an Evo 3 or Big 16g. I am almost right inline where I should be. Talk to Newb2DSM, he ran eerily similar times with my mods. Switching to a 1G TB and extrude honed manifold will be my next step and should put me on pump what I ran on race at 21 psi. Also cars in FL at my track tend to run a little slower than elsewhere in the country.

I believed he said he ran 8.4 with 2.0 sixty foot. He never said he ran 8.1 with the 2.0 sixty. :p

He never really gave specifics on either. Look in his profile. The time listed is 8.1 and the 60' is 2.01. There is no way in hell he ran an 8.1 with a 2.0 60' with the mods he has.

it si not good to race on that low of a tank. on the launch the gas swishes to the back of the tank and can starve the fuel pump from fuel, starving the motor from sufficient fuel, causing a very lean condition even for a moment that can be tragic. i always keep it a tad under 1/4 of a tank when racing, a lil over 1/4 at the most :dsm:

Believe it or not, it happened. I watched him do it.
