I ran the 1/8th mile yesterday. It was my first time at a track. Here is as follows
1st time trial
reaction=.549
60ft. 2.623
1/8th. 11.030
mph. 72.97
I spun all of first, and all of second... it sucked

2nd time trial
reaction. .638
60ft. 2.528
1/8. 10.579
mph. 70.49
I lowered tire pressure to 13psi to help traction... still no good.. Launced it more carefully, but still spun all of first and second *yes i did feather clutch too*

3rd bracket racing run

I raised the tire pressure to 18psi.. .and I decided not to do a burnout before staging... I was the fastest sport compact at the track though with this time... the closest was a vtec prelude that ran a 9.8... But I brokeout because I did better than my index time... never thought i'd break into the 9's...

can someone translate my 1/4th mile estimate?

Mods are- type24 intercooler, stock t-25 set at 20psi *drops to 15 at around 4.3k*, Injen intake, Apex'i WS catback exhaust, upic pipes, Nitrous Express intercooler spray bar *sprayed it before staging each time*, and the suckiest tires ever- Bf-goodrich traction T/A's....

pleez dont laugh, it was my first time at a track... popped my car's cherry!
 
first few runs usually can show how nervous you really are, in your case it did
 
You need to stop getting your street tires wet and trying to do burnouts with them, it does not make a difference cuz street tires are made of materials that prevent them from getting hot, just my .02
 
:thumb: Good times, try and work on your 60 foot a little bit.

For what it's worth I ran an 8.5 at my 1/8th mile track on 16psi w/ t25, fmic, injen intake, uip, 1g bov, and full 3" exhaust. Keep on practicing and your times will come down significantly. :D
 
the 20psi you're running even with the t25 is too much for street tires to handle in first gear. Get a dual stage boost controller so you can turn it on after first. It may not do that much good at only a 1/8th mile track.

8.5 on a T-25 is awesome! I only ran a 8.2 on my 50trim, but in my defence the clutch wasnt holding. Also I trapped 111.7 in the 1/4... stupid old CFDF.. :thumbdown

Just get 2 rims to put some drag radials on for the track. They arent that expensive and will drop your times at least 1/2 second. What else can do that for about $300.

I'll second that, drag radials (or slicks if you want to run them only at the track...) will make a world of difference launching the FWD, some better motor mounts will make a big difference too.
