I hate rain.
Arrived and unloaded just in time for the first round of time trials.
Pass # 1 seemed ok for the first 1.66 seconds, the distance it took me to cover the first 60' (a new personal best 60', on CHEAP Continental tires!) Apperantly the great launch caught me off guard and I boggled the shift to second, let off to search for the second set of cogs and then got back on it. 13.4xx@110mph. HORRIBLE!
Pass # 2. Determined not to miss any gears this time, I was very deliberate in letting off the gas, finding the gear, then getting back into the throttle. 12.6xx@110 (1.71 60') Trap speed hasn't been that low all summer. Made some adjustments.
Pass # 3. Sitting in th staging lanes I noticed a very ominous cloud above head. I said to the driver of the mustang beside me, "we 'might' get one more pass in". I should have said nothing, for I had no more uttered the words when sprinkles, then drops, then BUCKETS, (or maybe even small barrels) of rain poured forth, effectively ruining my evening.
Three rain outs in three consecutive trips to the track.
I'm going to build an indoor dragstrip.
