Well, this was the first time I have taken my GS-T to the track. Well, it isn't really a drag strip, but they have taken a parking lot and turned it into a dragstrip on Friday nights. So remember when reading my times, this is on parking lot pavement and not a dragstrip.

I know my reaction times suck, this has been the first time I have raced on a tree in over a year. But my main questions are as follows:

1) Does the MPH look right for the mods I have?
2) How do I bring down my 60' times, or are these times normal for a FWD.
3) Do you guys shift into 3rd on the 1/8, because I found myself redlining 2nd as I hit the end of the track... So I just finished in 2nd...

Reaction 60 ft MPH ET
.988 2.407 69.02 10.155
.899 2.545 70.20 10.431
.536 2.587 68.70 10.430
1.332 2.399 69.87 10.048
1.262 2.445 69.55 10.000
.904 2.436 70.20 10.103
.938 2.487 69.34 10.230
.729 2.355 71.08 9.965
1.29 2.470 69.23 10.151

I drive an AWD, so I can't really compare my time with yours, I'm just going to post it so you can have an idea.

In my opinion, you can improve in your 60' foot times, you should of got at least 2.2sec.

I have the same mods as you except I have a full exaust, and again an AWD car.

These where my times:

Reaction : .604
60 ft : 1.825
1/8 ET : 8.914
1/8 MPH : 77.64
1/4 ET : 14.02
1/4 MPH : 95.56

I have a 97 tsi FWD here is my best time so far
60' 2.407
330' 6.471
1/8 9.867
mph 72.26
1000' 12.788
1/4 15.222
mph 92.21
I have a K&N, dejon upic, 1gen bov. I just got a MBC but havent raced yet with it. I also would like to know how to reduce my 60' thats what hurts us FWD's the most. Slicks would be the best thing to do probably.

i would say you need to practice driving.. the day I bought my GST I brought it to the track and the bet I managed that night bone stock was 9.989 @ 72.76 1/8th with a 2.509 60ft..

Stiffer suspension in the rear and good sticky tires up front, and practice launching. My technique was this: KYB AGX's in the rear (set to full stiff), Green Dot retread tires up front (very soft), sit at 4500rpm, then slip the hell out of the clutch. Netted me a best of 1.98 60'. Ran a LOT of low 2.0x's.

Do what you can to keep the weight up front. I won't recommend replacing the shocks up front with AGX's since their softest setting is still stiffer than stock shocks.

Looks like it is just my driving.. I guess I have to practice, practice, and when I think I have it down, practice some more.. Thanks Guys
