Elizabethtown,
Just like to say hello to everyone. Just call me Tom. I live in Elizabethtown, KY, about 40 miles south of Louisville. I will give a quick rundown on my car and mods. Don't be harsh on me now, LOL, there are some things I made mistakes on buying while "learning" about DSM's and aftermarket parts. But, I am happy (when the mf is running).

1997 Eclipse GSX Magenta Grey Pearl

Engine:
18g Greddy turbo
Greddy large FMIC
Greddy hard pipes
Greddy Type-S bov
Greddy AirinX intake
Apexi N1 Downpipe and Cat-back
1g throttle body
Walbro 255hp (rewired)
(stock injectors, intake, head, short-block)

Electronics:
Greddy Profec B
Greddy TT
Autometer Boost and A/F guages
Apexi S-AFC

Drivetrain: (more $$ in the trannies than motor sucks balls)
TRE Full built tranny
Quaife Center Differential
ACT Extreme PP and Full Face Disc

Misc:
Konig Toxxin 17x7.5
235/45 Dunlop SP5000
Powerslot slotted rotors all around with EBC greens
Billet Quick release oil cap
Momo shifter & boot

The only local track available it an 1/8 mile track called Ohio Valley Raceway. Plus, on the stock injectors, i don't want to run the 1/4 mile. Ran my best time (not mph) about a week ago and I would like to get some impressions on how I am doing. Everything feels great, but I feel I can do MUCH better with a different setup than this Greddy 18g and Greddy FMIC setup. Tell me what you think.

9-28-02 Best ET

60ft: 1.680
330ft: 5.048
660ft: 7.866
mph: 88.25

Now, I don't have any reason to make up lies about stuff. My clutch decided to throw a fit when I hit 3rd gear, slip like an SOB. Soon as I hit 3rd, boom, went straight up to 5940@ rpm and stayed there till the car caught up to rpm's. So, I figured there was maybe another .05 -.1 in that run and about 2-3 mph.

9-17-02 Best MPH

60ft: 1.731
330ft: 5.186
660ft: 8.964
mph: 91.22

After LONG hours of reading everthing on DSM's over the internet (many hours on Faq and Vfaq) I am quite pleased on how the "overpriced piece of #@%#@%#@%#@% greddy parts" are doing. Though, in certain ways I do agree to that statement. Now I just need to save up some more $$$ and change to an FP green or AGP L2R and have a custom Skyline intercooler setup done.

Sorry for the long post, hope to get to know some of you:thumb:

That is a spectaculor 60 ft!!! I tlooks like the drivetrain work worked out for you. That is a petty good 1/8th mph, and would def. lead you to a 12 sec 1/4 with your driving. Good job, keep it up!

91 mph on a greddy 18g, that should change some minds about that turbo.

what boost were you running and do you have a logger? i'd be interested in seeing the duty cycle of those 450's - they must be begging for mercy by now :)

Well, all of my tuning has been from the seat-of-the-pants kinda deal. I understand detonation, duty cycles, heats soak, etc. I just sometimes stretch the limits.

I don't have a datalogger. But I would say i am stretching the limits of the 450's....maybe 105% duty cycle:p Don't start flaming me anyone, as I do know what the results could be if I do anything wrong. Just seeing how far I can go with the stock injectors. On pump gas I run between 17-18psi, on 114 grade I run 21-23 psi depending on how far I want to stretch it out.

Upgrade for injectors is going to have to wait. Just bought a new home and really need to get a new disc for the act extreme pp. I also would like to do something to the stock suspention. With a good set of adj struts and good springs.....maybe close to a 1.5 60'????? I doubt it, but hey, never hurts to try.

Thanks for the warm compliments!

Nice times. 7.94 1/8 is easily in the 12's, ceteris peribus.

I live in Lexington, we should get together at the track sometime. I usually race 1/4mi. in Clay City, in fact I'm planning to do some Test & Tuning tomorrow (friday) if it doesn't rain.

We'll talk on AIM.

That is a great time! I am not flaming you, just some comments. You can't run more than 100% duty cycle on an injector. I can almost guarantee you have maxed them out. I don't have the mods you do and I have maxed my 450's out on my 14B. I am seeing about 96% duty cycle--this is with the weather still warm. Who knows what I am going to see when the weather turns cold. 660's to the rescue.

Great times! Keep up the good work.

**NOTE** There is a reason for that smiley, was kidding. Yes, i would be almost possitive that I am running in the 90%+ duty cycle range. But like you, will be upgrading to 660's so I can lean out that damn fuel cut I know is coming soon with cold weather.

7.86 @ 88.25 is my new best, but as my original post stated, there was a problem in that run resulting in a low mph. I have run a best mph to date of 91.86, that was on a 7.98 pass. I figure 7.86 to be in the area of 12.2-12.3 @ 110-115mph? I would like to race at clay city, but it look bad today. How much do they charge for T&T on Friday? And what time do they start?

$25!!!!!!?????

Damn, that is expensive. Hell, T&T at Beech Bend in Bowling Green is only $10 on Tuesday nights. WoW, $25. I might still try and make it. Don't think I can go there many times, LOL.

No, I don't have a web page right now. I am trying to get one together right now and use my works host. Plan to have some good videos and pictures. I'm also had ideas of starting a compact car shop in my home town. About 70,000 people live in my county and not one shop around. There are tooooo many ricers in my town, not enough fast compacts. Though I do get to play with a few.

1992 Civic hatch...B18 GSR + Drag Gen III
1990 Eclipse GSX.... stock
1992 Talon AWD....Excellent mechanic..20g, 2g pistons,.....

1998 Eclipse GST....mainly stock
1992 Stealth TT....BPU
1998 Integra GSR...Greddy Turbo
1995 VW VR6...custom T4 turbo setup
and of course the plethora of domestics

Hope to have all of them on the site also. Happy to meet you all.
