so i take the drive, 2 hours to english town's raceway park in jersey and about 15 min away i stop to get some gas and my car is like sputtering and dying. nice. i stand there and yell at it a bit and it seems to start running right again, so back on the road i go. i get to the track, spray down the intercooler, get my car inspected, and get in line. i ran into a few dsm people there, a few of them had their first times at the track.

ok, my lane is moving, my car is idling like it has an insane cam in it, and im very unhappy when all of the sudden i notice my a/f gauge isnt reading anything! OMG well, ive had enough of this... i rip the thing out of the pod and pull two of the three wires out. i dont know what inspired me to do that, but i did it and the car's idle seemed to level out. nice, but its still not acting right. then i think to my self that maybe my spark plugs are failing, but that doesnt matter anymore cause i am next in line! i pull up and like a noob i drive right through the water box, in my awd car, dont do a burn out or anything, i mess up when im staging and go over the second set of lights, miss the count down, bog my launch and pull a 15.56. damn.

ok, so i finish my run... i lost to some turbo saab, and im not a happy camper. a fellow dsm person gives me a tool set with a screw driver in it and tells me to keep it and that he has plenty more. people at the track are nice. i pull apart my gauge pod, take off the final plug on the a/f gauge and put it into it's new home... a wendy's bag in the glove box. start up the car, spray down the intercooler, and bam, the car is running well again. i go and watch a bunch of the races while im waiting for my lane to begin moving.

finally, its go time, i get up next to a civic. "you're not going to loose to a civic patrick, you are not going to loose to civic." haha! he misses the staging lights! plenty of time to collect myself and build my launch. i launch hard at 4000 and with plenty of boost, the tires chirp and off i go! bam, 2nd, (please go in 3rd gear, please go in!) BAM 3rd gear, i can see the end coming up, but i dont care, theres plenty of time to slow down, bam 4th gear, and i didnt stop until i hit 110. i get my time slip and it was a 14.9. my trap speed was 90.88 as opposed to my 90.99 from the first run which seemed odd to me, but thats more of a reason to get a data logger. so that was my first time at the track. i only wish i had time for another run.

with the mods i have, i think i should have done better though... anyone think that my spark plugs could make that big of a difference? it was also a very humid night. my car should have been like mid 14s, i think.

first time down my 0-60 was 2.499, and second time down it was 2.072. in a few weeks when i go again ill keep it in third until the end of the run.

mods:
giant K&N intake, apexi turbo back exhaust (2.5 inch downpipe to 3 inch exhaust), Turbo XS Blow Off, ACT2100, greddy lower intercooler pipe, fuel pump rewire, running 15psi on the t-toosmall.

That is your 60 foot time, if you had a zero to sixty time that low you would be running 11's easy.

Anyways your not making enough power up top, and your 60 foot time could be faster.

Time to ditch the t25 and start looking at something bigger. a 16g or 14b would probably be perfect for you.

haha welcome to the club everytime I get to the track my car starts acting like a pos. I could only pull of a 16.2@97mph last time I was there but on the way home I raced my friends intake/exhuast z28 and was with him till 100.

anyway the launch the second time was better but you could still cut an evne better one. Go out on an abandoned street in the middle of no where and practice launching/ shifting through the first 3 gears i garuntee that will make a huge difference in yoru times. Second where you taking the t-toosmall to redline?? only take it to about 6500 maybe a hair more depending on how fast you can shift. The t-25 is worthless over 6500rpm.

the t-25 is worthless... i hate it. i am going to be replacing it when i get the funds, but im going to do it right and not just throw in a big ol turbo and see what happens. i was shifting at 6500 cause right after that my boost drops off.

btw, what rpms should i launch at? whats the most effective way to build boost before your launch?

ya pretty much the t-25 sucks. the only way to build boost in neutral would be with a two step. i have heard of some people being able to build a pound or two of boost but other than that you need a two step to produce real power of the line. for launching when I had my 1g awd, i would keep the revs between 5k-5.5k and pulsate the gas. slip it so that you get moving and then dump it. works great but make sure you are moving before you let the clutch due its work or good bye tranny.
