well I finally got my big28 from fp in the other day, so me and my friend took the time to install it. My first impressions were a big thumbs up for this turbo! I love this thing realy quick spool(better for the road racing I decide to do), and it held boost way better than the stock pos t-25. Well onto the exciting part. My friend who lives down the street from me has a z28 with exhaust and intake. We are always joking around talking trash to each other, and we thought it would be cool to see what this turbo has.
On the way back from In and Out we line it up, we keep just doing little things to temp the other person to go first. So finally he jumps out. I am in third gear going about 60 and just mash the gas, he alread had a little bit of a lead on me but he didn't get far. By the time I finished third(110mph) he had only 3/4-1 car on me. We were both very surprised by this result.
Here were my mods at the time
big28 ported to 7cm
lower and upper intercooler pipes
greddy type s
FIPK
dp and catback
running 1 bar of boost(14.22psi)
I will be putting in cams, injectors, fuel pump, safc, and ported o2 and then taking it to the track and the dyno to see what I am putting down. Hopefully I can do better than last time([email protected] mph) this time I will be prepared though drag radials, way low tire pressure, and some practice(don't go from an awd to a fwd with a 2600 and expect to do good).
