ok guys, who has the fastest street driven dsm (tuner members)? what do i mean (street driven). no uni-body, on street tires, pump gas, full interor (including a/c).

I will be making a sticky on this. so give me a moment.

P.S. Check your PM's

oops, yeh i accidently left that out. i mean uni-body... no tube frame ect... sorry guys sometime (well almost all of the time) i'm thinking twice as fast as i'm typing.

Just read the thread up top and submit your info to me and I will post it.

the reason i said full int. is because the more you remove the faster you get, and if everones car has full int. than the weight will be the same and it will be easier to compare parts for parts and times, besides the more you........ aw s@crew it..., i just thought it would be easier that's all. if you lightend your car or used race gas, ect... then just mention it.
there, i guess it would have been better if i had done it that way in the first place.

Let's use a little common sense here. Dave Buschur *could* drive his RWD car out to the local street races if he wanted to. Does that make it a street car? No. Street tires and unibody only tell a small part of it. You can tell who's car is a street car, and who's is a race car. I had a very fast street car; in fact it was my daily driver. It had more mph than a lot of non-streetable cars that went out to the races so it all depends on the car.

Regards,

Exactly, but where does one draw the line? I like the idea of "Fastest street car" but it need's to be well defined. At the local track where I race, the "street" class basically means no slicks and no tube frames, anything else goes. That's fine for their competition, but shouldn't the criteria for this list be a little more strict?

Just submit all your info to me and I will post your time.

The only restrictions are no tube-fram(which I don't think anyone has. Not many people but FWD use slicks so that's ok.

uh, john i think that they can see your thread.....OK! what's wrong with them posting here. some of us dont have a scanner, or a dig camer, so what is there exactly for me to send you.

and come on guys.. like Aslan said use your common sense. you know whats defines a street car. if your not sure like i posted before just list what you think is questionable.

so is race gas ok? i would think that a street car would literally mean what it would run on the street, so pump gas would seem right. How many people run race gas all the time?

So.......what are you trying to say? If my car is full of edible packing peanuts and nothing else is it still a street car?!

PM or e-mail me with your timeslip and mods and I will update the list. also include #'s of boost and whether this was race or pump gas, slicks or street tires.

This is the info you send me along with your timeslip (if you have it) I will not require timeslips anymore.

This thread has turned more into a theory discussion that about fast cars. My car is a street car through and through. I drove it to work 2 days this week and it has a complete interior. I really wouldn't make the classification of having a full interior either because I am putting in a roll cage this winter and will have to remove my rear seat but I will still drive the car every day. I think it is one of those things that is subjective based on what someone thinks. I know that in Rockford IL, guys drive 8 second V8s on the street but they are hardly street cars. I guess you just have to go on someones own opinion. I know guys with low 11 second talons that they would consider street cars but they are trailered to the track and only see the road during tuning runs so are they really street cars? I say no but they say yes. I think Race Gas must be allowed in a "street car" classification unless you say fastest street trim. Those are my opinions at least.

oh yeah and look out for john cause he's going to badger you until you pm him and send him your slips, so run while you still can.
