Well I go to the track last night. It's a nice night, 50 degrees or so, but got colder by the time I started racing. Its just a 1/8 mile track. I was thinking I could run decently, but I could only get a 10.37, which made me mad. I thought it should be a tad faster than that. I hit 72 mph or so (Don't have the slip, I'm too lazy to get it), and judging by some of the other times that hit 72 in the 1/8, I should be able to get faster than that. I launch at around 2500-3000, slip the clutch, and shift at 6200 out of first and second. Is there a better way to shift, I just slam it into gear as quickly as possible. I had no passenger, I ahve intake, BOV, UICP and thats about it, running 15 psi. That time just seems too high...

That is about right... plus it is all about the driver and the abilty to shift at the right spots to stay within the power band. What was your r/t and 60ft time?

Corey-

I'd rather not mention my R/T, lets just say it was the first time down to the track in about six months... OMG My 60 foot was decent (for me at least) and was right at 2.3. Not the best, but the track conditions there aren't outstanding either. I need to practice my launches, I know, but the street seems to yield much better results than the track.

R/T doesn't matter, 60' time isn't bad. Try Shifting at a little higher RPM and work on shifting faster:thumb:

I found my first ever time slip with my old FWD and I did 10.07 in the eigth with a 2.5 60' and ended up with a 15.3 in the quarter.

I might just go ahead and buy a short shifter and exhaust this week. That should help right? Oh and a MBC... :)
