Well i finally made it to the track.....It is a local 1/8 mile track.
Let me first get some of the mods out of the way
evo3 16
greddy 660
Dsmtranslator-blowthru
RNR Streetkit FMIC
1gen TB
ACT2600 with fidanza flywheel
POrted exhaust mani and o2 housing

Now with the mods out of the way i have been having some huge boost creep issues.I ma creeping from 12psi-28psi from 3600rpms -5600rpms in 1.9 sec. This was recorded on the dyno. I have the car running super rich just to be safe. I also unhooked the wastegate arm so the flapper will be wide open. Now in theory i shouldnt build any boost. I still do ....it varies from gear to gear and from pull to pull. No matter what circumstance i can go over 70% throttle in 2nd-5th gear at 4k rpms or higher with the wastegate unhooked, otherwise i hit 25+psi on stock internals and 93 octane. Now that you knwo the car history.

I was running with the wastegate unhooked that day and didnt hit any boost in 1st and less than 10lbs in second at the end of the gear and i didnt have any in 3rd when i shut it down.I was also running pig rich and was going to lean it out for my 3rd run but it started raining and i didnt get to make that pass. This was my first time at the track.....wish i could have hooked the turbo and ran but my boost is uncontrollable right now

by the way we dont have any traps because there was a wreck earlier in the day that killed the trapping device. Blue95 is a friend off of highperformancetoys.com. He has a 95 camaro 3.4 v6 with intake, and exhaust.
Billyc=1994 Trans Am with intake, headers, and exhaust. I believe thats all.....
it was a fun day. Cant wait to go back with boost

I realize that your car is not running to its full potential....but I would have expected better than that. I ran 9.7's almost stock in my gst. I also have the evoIII 16g on order right now....cant wait to see the results.

well....seeing i didnt hit much boost in second accept after 5500rpms -7k where i shifted i was basically n/a. I actually thought the times were very good with little to no boost and running uber rich. a t25 is running more air than me right now. I mean a launch at 7krpms in first bogs down to 3k rpms and then slowly pulls. Normally i spin all4 and scramble into second. There is a world of difference between the 2. Now im hopefully going back sunday and looking for alot better times. Also keep in mind this was at wide open throttle....still only partial for these times

i was more curious about your luanching style regardless if your turbo was hooked up or anything. Usually spinning all four at the line doesn't really count as a good launch IMHO. im not trying to knock you bro, but i was just wondering why would you race your car w/o the turbo?

ive never went to the track with the wastegate flapper hooked up. I do a very fast slip and then once the act2600 grabs it is a dump......im on sucky tires right now, and i dont spin all 4 for 20ft or nothing but they will spin. The front i s the worst...especially on the stock suspension but its not horrible spin. I had a friend in town who drove the blue v6 camaro who was wanting to race me. He thought he could beat me with the flapper unhooked. So i agreed to the race and we went to the track.I ran it the same at the track as i do on the street other than launching it. The car isnt running great but it is still reliable.Im just running rich and without boost most of the time.ITs no biggie.Ill have everything fixed in a week or so.Im a patient person am not in a big hurry.

With the flapper unhooked i also normally launch somewhere around 6k-7k. With it hooked up around 5500. It never bogs with it hooked up.Unhooked it slings you back and then bogs back down to 3k rpms and starts pulling slowly.thats the jist of it

Your exhaust upgrade????????

I cut damn near 1 full second off when i swapped the stock for upgrade.

DAMN......try blowing through a coffee stirring straw and see how your car feels.

Makes you wish you were blowing on a Mc Donalds HI VOLUME straw.

I say Exhuast and retry.,

Check my post........1st time to track with new mods......

I ran a 8.54 and my mods are simular to yours but I don't have a FMIC.

Good luck.

i have a 3" turbo back......

....well unhook your wastegate arm where your flapper is wide open and we should have similar times

3" Exhaust.

Hell NO....I am running better times than YOU.

My car doesn't even sputter....much less BOG.

oh and when I get a FMIC........You'd be seeing tailights anyway.

Peace.

are you not reading any of this thread?

i am having sever creep issues.....so i have my wastegate arm unhooked, which means i should be hitting 0 boost. These runs are basically n/a.with it hooked up i would definately beat your times....without it hooked up there is no boost, which means very little power. Take a minute to read

Are you sure the WB is working? My EVOIII creeps to 18psi now, so I just run 18psi. Creep gone.

I ran 8.7's last night. My best before was 8.5's with stock side mount

yeah it works.....i did the dyno at the se.dsm.org meet. Everyone there all ready went through and tested everything. Ont he dyno with the flapper tied wide open i still hit 16psi by 5000 rpms and it was starting to climb fast....that was after testing everything. So it makes no diff if the wastegate is working or not.....the flapper is opening and we watched it actuate on the dyno.Im suppose to be getting a video of the dyno that actaull shows it and everything they tried.WE done 4 pulls

first with wastegate hooked up was 28psi@5600 rpms
2nd was [email protected] one they bent the wg nipple thinking the vaccume line was being crimped because of the tight fit
3rd they hit 24psi by 5200 rpms and they ran this run with it running straight off the manifold with no boost controller hooked directly into the wg
4th run was 16psi by 5000 rpms with the wg flapper tied wide open.when it hit that i told them to shut it off and take it off the dyno. Ever since i have left the wg arm unhooked so the flapper is wide open to try and keep from blowing the car up

but your situation sucks.

I totally understand.

Me pesonally...I wouldn't be driving my DSM and for sure not to the track for any fun.

I'd be finding out why my wastegate can't bypass the right amount of exhaust, especially when you have a 3" EXHAUST SYSTEM.

I'd personally rather be running killer times having a blast then., then making excuses why your slow tonight.

Maybe you got a bad turbo.

My Big28 is money.

Best of luck.

Maybe I come off wrong.

After looking at that link....I would say your going through alot of trouble just to say you have a EVoIII 16G.

Fp Big28=550 cfm.....$848.53 bolted on
Big 16G=550 cfm.....$550+300 (full install kit RRE)=$850

Boost creep issue= Priceless

I'm done here.

GSXTACY

big 16g=36lbs of air
evo3 16g = 44 lbs of air

it just needs a little porting. The problem is sbr.....other shops have informed me they port it out as described there before they sell them and that keeps the creep from happening
