how good is the base model for autocrossing and road racing if you put cross bars and a few other cheap mods on them (and of corse i would put 17inch rims and good tires)

Arnt you getting the 1.8L? I wouldnt worry about racing that car much. Arnt you going for a good daily driver or something?? Id say if you plan on racing it in any form bump it up to the 2.0L nonturbo 4g63 at least.

is the suspension the same on the 1.8L as the 2.0L on 93 models? because if it is that should be good for what i want

yea its going to be a daily driver but i want good handling.. atleast like my acura integra for on the street (my point of this was if its decent for roadrace and autocross.. its more than good enuf for the street..)

below this is a little off topic.. but might be worth reading to help me decide

reason im still considering the 1.8l is becausei found one that has been sitting for a long time because its the base model andnobody really wants itbecause its the 1.8L (and its not a automatic which a old grandma would buy)

but the car itself the only real thing it needs is a few chips on the front of the hood fixed... 1 hatch shock.. and a drivers door gasket

the interior looks about the same as a new car (pefect shape.. no letters worn off nothing.. carpet is perfect..no tears or wear on seats)

i know i got off topic with this but for $2000 i think its a pretty good deal.. and for a extra $200 the dealer will give a 3 month warrenty.. so im sure that means the car isnt gonna blowup or anything

Keep looking. You will be disappointed with a 1.8L vs a turbo DSM. And $2,000 for a 1.8L, base model, 5-speed is by no means a "pretty good deal".

1gA turbo FWD/AWD T/E/L can be had for a few hundred dollars less in comparable shape as this 1.8L.

if you would see the car.. it looks like new.. and interior is perfect.. but it needs some mechanical work.. thats why i decided not to go for it
