I recently drove to Ohio and back to my home In Michigan and while putting my car In reverse the gears kinda went to being real loose I'm pretty sure they are shifter cables , does anyone know how hard it is to replace?i can still drive only
In first gear cannot put in neutral or shift

I've never had to replace mine, but I can tell you running them through the firewall into the engine bay will be the hardest part. I have a turbo 1G so I have no idea how much room you don't have to work with. I can tell you you'll most likely have to pull your center console to remove the cable ends from the shifter and there clips that hold the cable to the shifter base plate (they look like really big clips you'd find on your brake lines). Taking the cable off at the trans should be pretty straightforward, there's a cotter pin you pull and then lift the cable off the trans. Outside of that I can't offer any more guidance, but now would be a good time to upgrade your shifter bushings. Good luck and post if you have anymore questions or how everything turns out.
