You can't just resurface a head. When a head warps, it will affect the valve-to-seat alignment and all of your valves will get leaky. You need to have the head rebuilt proper. We charge $450 for a head rebuild if you bring it in. That includes:
Resurface for any type of gasket (MLS or OEM composite)
3 angle grind
Proper grind for turbo applications so you won't end up with leaky valves in the near future
High temp valve seals which will never smoke
New guides
Replace valves, rockers, keepers, retainers, and springs as needed
Complete cleaning properly without sandblasting
New cam seals
All tricky areas are sealed proper so you won't have oil leaks
The block also needs to be torn down, cleaned and bare bones for a proper resurface. We charge $100 for deck resurfacing for any gasket type. Unfortunately, 4G63 blocks tend to sink at the fire-ring area, so it's very important to resurface it while everything is apart too so as to prevent pushing coolant.
Our heads seal and live in high powered applications and we rebuild several engines a week.
