It has been the coldest it has been so far this year lately. Last night we got a good snow and it was around zero. So I went out to start my car and it starts up fine cranked for a little but still started no big deal. I go to hop in a minute later didn't let it warm up to much. As I go to put in gear it will not let me do so. So I say crap my slave or master cylinder is done though that was replaced last year. So I look for leaks no leaks the reservoir is still full. What the hell is going on here? Should I just start it up let it run for a while cause when I push in the clutch I notice it feels weird almost soft. Is it possible some water got in the line or something and froze up?

Did you check the slave cylinder? I have had 2 of them go out on me. It is a fun 1 hour fix....after waiting 5 days for the part.

Is there pressure in the system? If there is, pump it several times while only letting the pedal up 1/2 way. Should allow you to limp around for the time being. Sounds like a classic symptom of air in the lines. A good bleed should do well.

Well got lazy didn't want to deal with this in the cold so I took it to a local shop. They say my clutch will engage just will not disengage so thankful for that. At least I know the clutch is still there right? Anyways, could a simple adjustment be all I need as I printed off the article Defiant left on here and handed the papers to the mechanic himself as he has never heard of an adjustment for a hydraulic clutch. What else could it be before they try and dick me out of money.

There is a little nut on the rod that goes into the firewall for the master. Get it loose and turn the rod to the right to bring the engagement up or to the left for the opposite. It is possible that if you cant get it to disengage that the clutch springs popped out in there and are holding you from disengaging. Hope it isn;t that. Well good luck. When i start my car in the cold i just pump it for a while and i get a good clutch pedal. I know i have air in it but it is too cold to bleed it and i do get a good pedal. Your clutch isn't going anywhere LOL. It is always engaged in there. It has alot of pressure on it from the pressure plate so no need to ever worry about your clutch falling out of the car. LOL

I was just saying I am glad I still have a clutch as in its not completely worn out. Not falling out of the car LOL. But like I said I have already told the mechanic about the adjustment on the clutch just hope that is all it is.

Yeah sent it back to ACT today. The mechanic said you could see on the teeth that they were defective where they were attatched to the plate. And if they find the part defective they will give me a full refund. Lets just say I am not holding my breath.
