I was thinking lately alot about stroker for my 7 bolt. I followed a lot of threads on different boards on rod ratios, angles and all that other stuff. What if we could add as much deck as we want by machining a "plate" with dowels to keep it sealed and aligned. Machining of the block would be required too to take that plate in. I will post a CAD drawing later when I get home from work so you guys can see exactly what I mean.

Reason I thought of this is I don't really feel like buying 4g64 block and all misc. parts that are needed for a swap. I don't have a problem with it but I think it would be neat to add even more deck than those 6mm 4g64 offers. There would be no need to for custome pistons or rods if you want to use 64 crank in 63 block. Figure out how long rod you want to use and you're all set. So what you guys think? Would that have any problems sealing? Only other part you would need to find is longer timing belt.

No shit! I have to use pattern of a block to make a plate?! Wow, didn't think of that  There would be no welding required. I guess I need to get home earlier to post the CAD drawing so you know what I'm talking about. I know a very good machinist which I'm confident could machine plate and block to a very tight tolerance so it seals. If not, Cometic makes custom gaskets. I'll talk to him when I pick up my block from him.

Dude, where is all of this hostility coming from? You asked for opinions and I gave a some quick off the top notes on what I thought could work.

Its obvious to me that you don't want help on this...

I'm sorry Mr.Obvious. I didn't look for help on how to make a pattern but opinions from somebody who works with metals that could tell me if that will hold cylinder pressure without breaking or expand at different rate since it's a smaller piece so it would heat up faster.

If all you got out of my post was about how to make a pattern then it may not be so obvious to you after all.

Ok, I'm done with you and this "dreamers" thread.

Thread reported. AutronicDSM: I recommend a different attitude.

For what your trying to do...I would be _much_ more comfortable with swaping in a '64, then adding plates between my head/block.
