shiming lifters

has anyone tried putting a small shim under each lifter in order to open the valves a little more? kind of like putting 1.72 rockers in a mustang stock is 1.60 the 1.72 add lift. is this possible will it work? just wondering.

NO that is NOT the same as a rocker ratio. The rocker ratio is a fulcrum. Lifter clearance is lash. The HLAs will take up the additional lash to a point then you will bind your lifters and collapse them.

No you won't. The holes at the bottom are NOT oil supply. They are there to relieve any pressure on the bottom of the HLA from pressurized oil leakage TO the bottom, forcing the HLA up.

You are correct. I never said the holes at the bottom are oil supply, though.
