hey all i just purchased a used 6 bolt shortblock, it is just the block, rotatings assembly and front case. the front case however is missing some bolts. this is my first time tearing down a 4g63 this far and im not sure the best way to go about finding what bolts are missing or where they go. are they all the same size? also what timing components do i need, i was told i cant swap over my 7 bolt parts? any help is appreciated :aha:

ok ill have to get a picture tomorrow when im at work

EDIT:also noticed 7 bolts use smaller head studs, is it possible to drill the stud holes out by hand ? i really didnt want to have to send the head to a machine shop since it was just there before it started knocking

edit x2 : im going to pull the 7 bolt from the car and inspect how badly the crank/rods are damaged and move on from their the sixbolt will serve as a slow build but i want the car back up and running

awesome thanks! unfortunately ill be selling the motor to a friend who wants it for his car , but ill pass the info on to him. im using the money to pay for an OEM gasket set and ACL bearings

no need to send the head out. im using a seven bolt head , just enlarge the holes with a 1/2 drill bit and do the oil port mod
