Anyone have stock valves fail? I'm talking head come off a valve of breaking in the keeper groove?

I've always ran stock valves and want to continue to do so, but I'm kinda worried. I honestly don't feel that any of the aftermarket valves are as good as stock when it comes to durability.

I've always ran stock valves. I've installed a few sets of ss in builds that i've done in the past, but for myself always stock. They are very durable valves. Without piston contact or detonation in that cylinder the valves should be good for hundreds of thousands of miles and a few valve jobs.

It all depends on the application and goals. Just because a valve isn't broken doesn't mean that is hasn't failed or become damaged. Aftermarket valves hold up to higher heat and RPM better and their shape and construction allows for better flow characteristics.

Valves broken at the keeper groove is typically a sign of valve float or loft, or rocker misalignment which could be from worn guides, worn seats or damaged valve face.

I've never lost a stock valve without contact. Last time the valves kissed the pistons I broke the heads off of two valves and another snapped midway up the stem. I even hit a 38 psi spike that drove me to 11.5k and didn't loose a valve... springs X 9 yes, but not a valve.
