A friend of mine blew his head gasket last season on his evo8 and well long story short. He has desided to change his setup.
He has offered me his used internals for a great price.
HD wiesco pistons and Manley aluminum rods. Stock bore and stroke
His car did 550ft/lbs with no signed of any strain. I am very interested in using his old setup.
I have a 6 bolt.
Now, i know the pistons will work.
The only concern is the rods. There are narrower, that is a fact, but is it possible to just use a 6 bolt bearing? It seams possible. The bearing cannot go left or right because of the groove or " journal "on the crank dosnt allow this movement. Also it just does not seem likely that the bearing would move inside the rod and cap. Obviously asking an engine builder makes the most sense but i figured id ask here any way. There is no concrete statements that say if it would work or not.
If nobody is sure ill be happy to ask and engine builder to share the info i gain.
This is not a thread about evo pistons working on 1g components or evo if rods are strong bro!!
