Hi guys,

first off I already searched the forums with no luck being that most people do the opposite (1g head, 2g bottem end). Some background info on my setup: I had the head rebuilt after bending some valves and soon after this the bottem end went out. Sean a FFTEC recommended I keep the freshly rebuilt 2g head since upon inspection it only needed the valves replaced on the location where cylinder #3 went out. We then rebuilt a jdm 6 bolt bottem end (balance shaft eliminator kit) with forged internals (eagle rods, wiseco pistons). My question is what parts do I need to get for my timing belt change? 1g water pump, Tensioner Adjuster, Tensioner Pulley etc.

You need the 1g water pump, 1g hydraulic tensioner, ALL timing pulleys are the same for all years, timing belt is also the same. If you are putting a new 2g head on, you will have to have the head bolt holes reamed out or drilled out to 12 mm (some say 1/2").

I'm sorry guys, I forgot to mention that the setup has 60k on it now. I was asking for the parts I needed so I can perform the timing belt change myself with my buddy instead of having to take it in. Yes, we did have to re-slot the holes for it to fit and I'm also running a 1g Black Top CAS on it. The top cover also had to be trimmed to fit along with some other minor tweaks. All in all I am happy with the way the motor came out when it was first done.

Thanks for the info guys; now I know what I need for this hybrid setup :thumb:

Be careful what you think you know. The pulleys are NOT the same for all years. 1g and 2g are different. The eccentric timign belt pulleys are different part numbers, different eccentric, different offset.

Does anyone know all the specific parts needed? Along with what else should I replace while I'm performing the TB change?

Page 4 has the list of parts.

Parts to change:

1) All of your pulleys (1G pulleys)
2) Hydraulic Tensioner (This is the 1G hydraulic tensioner).
3) Timing belt(s) are all the same 90-99.
4) 1G Water Pump and gasket (water pipe o-rings are the same).

Generally everything for the 1G block needs 1G parts (except for the motor mount bracket).

My bad, timing tensioner pulley is different between 1g/2g sorry for the misinformation.

Cool! Thanks for the help and following up with the corrections - greatly appreciate it.
