Reliable Lifters. What would you use.

Well, I'm hoping my problem is that I have lifter tick from Hades caused by a collapsed lifter. The only other cause of this noise would be rod knock and I am praying that's not what it is.

I don't know what car this came off of, but the sound my engine is making sounds EXACTLY like this but 1000x louder.

They are a set of BRAND NEW ITM revised lifters. So if a lifter fell apart what should I lifters would you recommend?
 
Get some 3g lifters

Do your research and post helpful data, ITM replacements are 3g designed.

I would suggest OEM at this point, if ITM/Topline are failing you. I know they are stupid exspensive for out community, 30 a piece. Its odd though, ITM has been used and had a good reputation in out community. Many have use them without any problems.

Were the lifters primed before putting them in? What method did you use? Motor oil and then bleed them?

BTW Sean, I been following your other thread, Motoman break in method......, I hope the sound you are hearing is also lifter tap, easy fix.
 
Jackson Machine are supposed to be great lifters. A little expensive but good.
 
I too would try a set of OEM revised lifters if the ITM's are failing you. Also, If it were rod knock, wouldn't you be seeing metal shavings in the oil?
 
Before I purchased New OEM lifters, I would grab the GSC "zero" tick lifters from extremepsi. They are designed to not tick even with oil pressure issues and would be way less than OEM.
 
The 3g HLAs from Engnbldr on Ebay are made by the same company/factory that Mitsu used used to have them made.
 
Uhhh. Normally I wouldn't do this but I'm going to disagree. Lash adjuster tick isn't necessarily an oiling problem. The adjusters themselves are usually the problem. While it can be indicative of one, its also extremely common on cars that are otherwise completely fine. My 'lifters' tick and my car makes 22psi oil pressure at idle.
 
Lifter tick tells you when you have oiling problems. Installing those lifters is like installing an always off check engine light.

My lifters ticked before i bought the gsc lifters and it wasnt telling me my oil system is bad it was just the crappy design! So you cant blame it on that.
 
Topline are the same lifters. Hylift Johnson owns Topline or vice versa in Muskegon, Mich.

You can't "prime" HLA's like was mentioned above. You can soak them in oil ahead of time, but all this does is lubricate the outside of the HLA. Even if you could prime them, there is no need to and it would actually do more harm than good. This is advice usually given by someone that doesn't know how an HLA operates.

Wait, define "lots of racket." Because one of the people that told me it was lifter tick showed me a video of a car with lifter tick that sounded EXACTLY like what I suspect is rod knock.
