Hey Guys,

Helping a buddy out with his car. He picked up a 2g Spyder Turbo that was pushing coolant. He had a head that was rebuilt milled that was used on one of his other DSMs for a short time before he pulled it off.

So he is planning on installing his rebuilt head on the Spyder. What is the torque sequence and how much to torque the head on the stock head studs?

1. 58
2. loosen completely
3. 15
4. tighten 1/4 turn
5. tighten 1/4 turn further
straight out of the haynes repair manual.

2g head bolts are torque to yield... Technically should only be used once. Not saying that no one has ever reused them but do it right the first time and spend the 100 bucks on ARPs

Sorry bolts, I was thinking ARP Studs. But he's using stock bolts.
11mm or 12mm bolts?

Thanks for posting this here was an easy search to find thr torque sequence. :) think i lifted my head behind #1 intake side so wanted to set the tq wrench to 100ftlbs and see if it clicks or wants to tighten more after 13k miles it's been through. Is 100ftlbs correct if I'm not loosening the studs? Arp standard head studs.id rather just check that they are at where they should be for the final tq spec.
