I searched and searched found no answers to my questions. Been busting my ass on the build for the past two months. I bought a new front case, oil pump, and bsek (oem). Filled it completely with assembly lube and torqued it all to spec using red lock tight. Today the car was ready to run. I pulled the coil plug, cranked it for a minute. Pluged the coil in and fired it up. The car ran for a hole 8 seconds, the stopped. I freaked out. I tore the timing cover off and found the motor seized (so I thought). I let out a few tears, then went back to work. Pulled the belt and the cams spun free, both ways. So I didn't skip timing. Turn the crank and it spins like butter. Turn the oil pump gear and it will not budge. So my question is what did I do wrong and what do I do now? Can I buy a new case and oil pump? Or do I need to tear the motor down? I caked all the bearings in lube. What do I do?

Well take the pump off and go from there, and see what happened if the engin seized up of course tear it apart. Replace whats damaged, get a new pump of course, why chance it unless you have money and time to blow. One thing at a time and go from there we cant tell, do more and let us know and give us an update.

Check the main oil feed hole in the oil pump drive gear shaft (the one the pulley mounts to) . I have found shavings in them when they were new and they were boxed OEM mitsu. I can bet this was your problem. Your going to need a new case and at least a new drive gear.

I would check at least one rod bearing and see how it looks as your going to need to pull the oil pan off anyway.
