So I have a '95 GST with a 6-bolt swap with 2G head. I just did a compression test today and have severly low PSI across all cylinders. So this weekend I'm gonna check the piston rings and the valves. If it's my piston rings, I'm considering just upgrading the pistons and possibly jusy doing a 2.3 stroker or the 2.4 if I can find it again. I would like to know what is the best running size I can bore the block to and which psitons would go best with it. Thanks.

Ive read a lot of forums and the bigest bore ive seen people go is .40. i personally run a 2.0 and i just went .20 just to give my rings a clean and smooth surface to seal against. I would think anything over .40 on a street car would most likely have you running into over heating temps, especially a DD. Pistons are something you would just have too look around and see what other people are running. A lot of guys are using the weisco hd pistons. I personally have arias pistons. Find someone with a setup similar to what you want and see what their using.

I agree with herms99gst. My pistons are Wiseco 8.3:1 .20 over on a 2.0 block. Are you sure want to stoke it as opposed to just forged pistons on your 6 bolt rods or even forged rods? What are your goals/budget? There are lots of things to consider and money only stretches so far.

You are definately right about money only stretching so far. Honestly, my goals are maybe low to mid 300hp range, nothing to big, but has a better power range. My last eclipse was a turbo spyder, stock everything except intake, exhaust, suspention and shifter components. I was happy with it, but now I just want a little more for a DD. I'm still new to doing engine internals so I don't really know the benefits of forged parts compared with a stroker. I just know added displacement adds more power. I already got an aftermarket turbo I can put on (T3-T4). Any advice is great. As for the budget, i'd have to save up here and there, but not too much of a worry.

Also .20 is fine with me, one of my friends was talking about .80 on his 240sx and I thought it was way too much.

Well usually a stroker pistons are forged too. But with a stroker kit you also need to replace the rods and crankshaft so it's a lot more expensive then just say forged pistons or pistons and rods. The stock internals can handle over 350 hp with a good tune but if you need to replace you pistons you might as well go with forged pistons as they aren't much more expensive. Forged pistons on 6 bolt rods would be good for 500+ hp. That's what I went with, Wiseco's on 6 bolt rods held on by ARP hardware. Larger displacement with help with spool time and off boost/low boost power. You've got to weigh the cost vs. the benefit compared to your goals. There is no perfect setup, just get the setup that works best for you.

Just throwing this out there, the 4G64 is basically a 4G63 bored 60 over and 7mm taller. How much you can bore depends on the engine, there is no universal answer. Many people would say going 60 over is crazy.
