A quick question about lower balancer timing mark...

When setting up timing at the balancer, where should the notches on the balancer point to on the Timing tab 10*,5* or "T"? I have everything lined up cams, oil pump and balance shafts. When I put the balancer back on I noticed its a little in front of The "T" ( off the scale) Is it suppose to be on the 5 degree mark?
 
By "balancer" I'm assuming you are referring to the crank pulley/harmonic damper. The pulley's timing mark should line up with the "T". When setting the ignition timing (as opposed to mechanical timing) it is recommended to set it at the 5* mark that you are referring to. This is the timing that you adjust with a timing light and the motor running.

Confirm that cylinder 1 is at TDC with the timing marks aligned.

Examine the crank pulley for signs of separation of the rubber damper ring.

Thanks, when I checked my timing at the harmonic balancer initially, the notch was to the right of the "T". After doing my timing over, now it lines up with the "T" and the car runs much better... Thanks again
