Nippon Piston Rings (NPR)

I am doing a rebuild and I have searched NPR on tuners and it seems like mostly good replies that say people like their products. I have heard that NPR makes the original 4g63t pistons/rings. Is this true? No dealer has ever given me a straight answer. Thanks!

Yes NPR made the OEM pistons and rings.

I have used nippon racing pistons as well as ITM and ITM is better if you are considering a stock rebuild

Im fairly certain "Nippon Racing" is not Nippon Piston Ring company (NPR). It's a china bay use of "Nippon". But yes NPR is the company that fabricates and fabricated the original rings/pistons and other internals in the original 4g63 for Mitsubishi.

I know it's not pistons or rings, but this gasket is indistinguishable from the mitsu mls, i do have both for a side to side comparison. MITSUBISHI 4G63T 4G63 MLS HEAD GASKET TURBO 1G 14B 16G : eBay Motors (item 150420537088 end time Mar-14-10 23:37:29 PDT)

Donnie, do you mean "Nippon Racing" headgasket is the same as Mitsu? Or NPR head gasket is the same as Mitsu?

The nippon racing gasket. I keep used gaskets of each type for valve to piston clearance checks on new builds. The nippon racing has the same measurements as the mitsu mls. It also has the rubber type materal around all of the passages, and is a 4 layer. There is a cheaper mls on ebay that is a 3 layer, without the rubber compound. The nippon racing gasket isn't really that cheap, it's $70 shipped. Cheaper than a mitsu, but not el cheapo.

Give them a call and ask them. They should know better then anyone else.

NPR is a company that toyota, mitsu and others use for their oem parts. . . They have a website. Google it.
