1G-specific excessive oil pressure blowing oil filters!

Just finish putting in my new motor in my 1G, 6 bolt. last night i tried starting it to break it in and it blows or loosens my oil filter when first starting in last than 5 seconds of running.
I removed the balance shafts, i still have oil squirter's and i didn't port the OFH, my oil cooler line is a lil kinked, and i am using 10/30 oil to break the motor in. i don't know what the oil pressure reading is but i think its excessive. after doing some research here lots of people are porting the OFH does anyone have a pic of the before and after port job? is there anything i can do the spring and piston to lower oil pressure? will removing or installing a larger oil cooler with bigger lines lower my oil pressure? did anyone have this problem b4? what else can i do? i don't want to take the motor apart.

Good thread, Basically you want 10psi for every 1k RPMs.
High oil pressure? OFH blew off..

Porting the oil relief hole with no balance shafts?

The pics aren't working for some reason but just search oil filter housing + porting. You want to open up the hole that the relief valve sits in.
If you keep having problems, you need to pull off the head and do the oil port mod.

Having an oil cooler will not be the cause of high oil pressure.

I have an aftermarket B&M oil cooler, It did not raise my pressure.

I'd suggest the relief valve is stuck. Take it out and clean it up so it works properly.

^x2. I can't help but wonder, which head did you put on your conversion? If you used a seven bolt head, the head bolt holes need to be enlarged for the 6 bolt block. That's been known to cause higher than normal oil pressure, but blowing the oil filter? Wow! I'd really make sure that the relief plunger can move freely in it's bore.

i would say your over 125psi if your blowing apart the oil filter, I will agree and say check your oil pressure relife valve.
