My rod bearings finally came in now its time to install them. Im going to be doing it with the motor still in the car. I have the basics, im just wondering if someone could give me a detailed list of instructions along with torque specs for the rod caps. The only reason why I am asking is because I don't have the time to look myself, I have class in 5 mins and I will be there all day. Thanks guys

Yea i got a shop manual. And yes I am doing it with the engine in the car. But I have all that done. Now what do you guys recommend for an oil to start out with? Obviously conventional. But what thickness? How often should I change it? And when should i change to a new oil and what should i change it to? Thanks guys

Did you replace the rings as well?

There is no reason to use conventional oil unless you are trying to seat the rings AFAIK.
The torque spec/rod bolt stretch spec should be in the FSM. You should be reading that instead of asking us.

I am assuming you will be using standard size bearings. Just use 5w-30. 10w-30 is fine as well. If you are going to be running any higher viscocities I would buy an oil pressure gauge to make sure its not excessive.

Im not replacing rings or anything, just rod bearings. And thank you for the torque specs
